Anyone got one of these? Apparently communications and customer service is bad it the product is excellent? I am nervous of ordering one but the other alternative, PFC, is the wrong color!

garys

You have every right to be nervous. Way to much bad history with this company. You Better off waiting until a 737 builder sells theirs and paint it the correct colour.

I just recieved my ACE 747 yoke.

Awesome piece of kit.

Ali sometimes takes a while to reply on emails, but he will reply.

I had no hassles with the order and shipment.

how long did Ali say it would take, and how long did it actually take? Do you have a any photos please?

OmniAtlas

I had the 737 ACE yoke (bought second hand so I didn't deal directly with the company) which I believe to be very similar to the 747 yoke

One thing to watch out for -- the width of the 'base' is too wide and could not slide into my rudder pedals (aerosim solutions).

Christo van der Loo

Hi GodAtum,

I guess it all depends if he has stock. I was lucky, when I placed my order he had 6 which would be finished in the next couple of weeks. Out of those 6, 4 were already sold.

You will have to check with him.

For me, the whole process took just over 5 weeks.

I don't know how to upload photo's on this forum. I can email a couple to you if you want.

cheers
Chris

Hi Chris,

I'm not sure how to PM on here. As OmniAtlas mentioned, the base looks quite large. In my setup, I'll have the rudder pedals behind the yoke but not sure if the base prevents it from sitting flush (as in this http://www.flightdecksolutions.com/pcupload/B747FBPT.swf)?

Otherwise, simujabs might be able to paint their 737 yoke the correct colour?

jb747

Chris,

I just sent you an email with a photo of my Ace yokes in the 747 sim.  As you can see, they protrude above the floor to be positioned at the proper height and are perpendicular to the floor instead of being canted forward like the real units.

However, they work well and are probably the best replica out there.

Thanks for the photo, I really appreciate it. Have you got the manual? If i dont screw it down, does it stay stable?

jb747

Four big honking screws to keep it stable.  The springs are heavy duty.

Cheers,

Jon

An alternative would be the kit from Northern Flight Sim in Florida http://www.northernflightsim.com

I've bought this kit and it is of very good quality.
The hadnling of the sale went according to the schedule as agreed before and everythin arrived on time and solidly packed in a sturdy crate.

Unlike the picture (showing the full set with interconnected controls, static loading, etc..) they do the 744 as well with all the correct colours..
IIRC, they do sell the rudder pedals and the yokes separately as well.

Looks like a work of art -- how much are these going for these days?

SwissCharles

Hi Omni,

Well, they are a work of art.

But since it's 3 years since I bought them, its wise to ask Art himself re availlability and current prices: northernflightsim@verizon.net
