PSX on Windows 7 64-bit.

Hello everyone,

Quick question:

1- Will PSX run on a Windows 7 64-bit system?

I was just given a brand new (still in the box) laptop with Windows 7 64-bit, 4GB of memory, AMD Athlon 64 X2 processor, and a 1GB HD ATI video card. I wanted to know if this will run PSX as things stand right now (with decent FPS - 30 or more.) I was going to buy a new computer weeks before PSX was due to come out, but if this one will do, I can save myself a lot of money.

Thank you very much,

Mariano

If Java runs, PSX should run.

We'll let you know when Santa puts a Windows 7, 64bit laptop in one of the Alpha tester's Xmas stockings : P
I think you'll be pretty safe, Mariano. Unless Java suddenly becomes extinct, PSX  should run on anything.

Cheers.

My Java system (Mac) is 64 bit.

PSX runs on 64 bit Windows Vista Ultimate without problems so it should run on Windows 7.  :) From memory it also runs on every processor, screen size and resolution the alpha team could find.  :)  :)

Thank you guys for all the good news. I was going to ask next about screen resolutions but Garry already cleared the issue. I am beginnig to wonder if there is going to be anything wrong with PSX, whatsoever (aside from the lack of a full motion platform.) Looks like Hardy is on top of everything.
Once again, thanks for all the good and very promising news.

Mariano.

The screen size minimum is technically not limited, but cosmetically considered it shouldn't be smaller than ca. 800 x 768: below this minimum the Instructor page gets scrollbars which is not so nice as you can see on this screenshot:

The next shot is at 1024 x 768. The Instructor page is slightly cut at the bottom:

The real pleasure starts at 1900 x 1200 and above (provided the graphic card is suitable).

The bigger the screen, the better :-)

The longer I look at the Mt. Fuji and the Bays of Tokyo and Nagoya I start to belive that PSX has an outside view with terrain mesh data....  ;)

Hardy, you remind me more and more of Leonardo da Vinci.
