Main gear failure leads to belly landing at Stuttgart

Detailed report is given at the URL below.  It's a good ending since all the people were safe, but the airliner seems to be a bit worse for the wear.  I hadn't personally heard about doing a 2G maneuver to try and force the landing gear down.
