I have tried the original Apple app on a borrowed IPad and ever since have been waiting with anticipation for the Android version to appear to run on my own tablet.

Many thanks for taking over the project and releasing the app today.

The app is just fantastic. I have spent all this evening using it in various situations and it works for me just great. I have the original Motorola Xoom 10.1 inch tablet. The tablet was just lying about waiting for your app and to be the latest addition to my cockpit :-).

The fonts look good and it was really easy to setup. I even printed the weather to my previous latest addition of a serial receipt printer from the app.

Once again many thanks for taking the time and effort to release this great app.

Thank you Graham for your nice words. I am happy to read this beta release is already useful for you. But the app still needs some improvements like proper lights management, proper text alignment for all devices and it only supports CduL at the moment. I want to add an option to configure CduL, CduC or CduR. And of course more functionalities if requested by the community!

I have installed the lastest beta on my Galaxy Note 8, Android 4.4.2, stock ROM.

Unfortunatly the app crashes on opening

Should I install a custom ROM ?

I just released a new version. You can download the zipat the link below that contains the apk package that you have to deploy on your device and a first version of the user manual.

What is new?

- You can position the CDU items by yourself for proper layout.
- The text lines are now printed double with one pixel difference. Nice effect as proposed by some forum members in the past for other CDU implementations.

Do you see the image of the cdu after opening or don't you see anything at all.

Just installed the latest beta :

It's better, now I can see the CDU

But I can't enter the settings...

When I press on the menu button on the bottom left of the Note 8 and press settings, nothing happens

So it's hard to say if the app is crashed or not, could be working, without the settings it's hard to say.

Did you read the manual?
To enter settings you have to press the screw at the top right of the cdu.

I assumed (wrongly) that the menu button would work...

Now it's working great, and it was quite easy to find the proper font size and margins.

OK, great to hear. I will check how to use the menu button if available. I don't think it is there in all versions and models. Not sure.
By the way, I found out that the lights are not working in the latest beta, will try to fix that today.

Working perfectly fine here on a Galaxy TabPro 8.4", thanks so very much for the great job done.

Btw, would it help if every user post or send his/her settings once text and lights positions are configured for his/her typical device (for a quick setting for most common models) ?

That is a good suggestion Xavier although I don't know if Hardy is happy if we (mis)use the PSX forum for that.

I will see if I can add this to my in progress website. I am using some free tool for that and I don't know if this is supported (or maybe I have to upgrade to a payed version).

Version 0.3a is available. Functionality of the lights fixed.

For those doing upgrades, if you just reinstall (and DONT delete the app) you will keep all your settings and you don't need to reconfigure. I will add this to the manual too.
