So for Route Planning I use PFPX and TopCat, which covers a lot of my needs.

But there is a missing hole with charts and such, so I was looking at this:

http://www.aivlasoft.com/

Anyone have experience with it? Playing with the 30 day demo myself.

Not planning on using FSX yet with my setup, so the functionality to get the progress to it isn't there for me at the moment, though it would be cool if there would be a way to get that functionality there native to PS X.

Hardy,

Did get a copied ordered and it's on its way for Thursday \\o/ but went with a different vendor....

cheers!

Apart from the moving map, Aivlasoft EFB isn't much use when you already have PFPX.  I have both programs and haven't touched Aivlasoft since PFPX came out.  The problem is that the "charts" aren't really charts at all.  So I'm not sure it will go very far to filling the gap, assuming what you're looking for are actual procedural charts.  For that, I've just resorted to online resources--courtesy of my friends at Google.

Edit: How could I forget the best feature of Aivlasoft EFB?? The moving map is quite handy in the airport environment if you are unfamiliar with local taxiways, gates, etc.  So, to Aivlasoft's credit, you would no longer need airport diagrams.  But that's not much use if Aivlasoft can't receive input from PSX.

I am using SimPlatesX from Dauntless Software .... On an iPad.  For years, I printed chart after chart ... But this solution weeks perfectly. I agave now done three flights using it for SIDS, stars ils runway charts, aerodrome .... Just a couple of taps away.

I'm just learning PFPX ... A really great piece of software.

For charts on the ipad/iphone/iOS I would recommend CircleToLand

No subscription fees required.

Hi Dustin,

Like LawyerPilot said, the best feature for me is the moving map function for ground operations. I haven't tested this yet but I'm assuming you can get the EFB to work with PSX by running FSX as a dummy to control it through Visual PSX. This would be nice on a seperate machine.

I still use Navigraph for all my charts which can now be used on a tablet, ipad etc.

I've tested that situation and can confirm that it works flawlessly....

Trying to avoid having FSX open, but the moving map in EFB would be nice for ground operations.

Have to ask on their support boards if the functionality to link directly to PSX would be a possibility.

hmm..have to see.
