Using vectors (ATC)

Does anyone know how to insert vectors into the ATC after takeoff and have the AI ATC vector you into the next waypoint?

The departure situation YSSY -> KLAX has this setup, but I am not too sure how to input it in, even after googling the net for answers.

Thank you.

From memory this is part of the Departure in the database, it's not something that can be manually entered.

Thanks John, I assume with YSSY, SY4 SIDS will have to be assigned by the controller.

is it possible to be vectored in during approach?

You get vectors when all is correctly set on the instructor's Voice-ATC page, and when the active waypoint in the FMC is VECTORS, no matter which flight phase.

The vectors vary slightly by random. You cannot change them.

If you turn off all LNAV checkboxes on the instructor's Voice-ATC page, you will always get vectors.

Thank you Hardy, I will disable the LNAV checkbox on approach and see how I go.

Cheers.
