Ergotech multiple monitor stands, mounts

Does anyone use these or similar mounts for holding multiple monitors, either for flight sims or general desktop uses?

They mostly seem to have favorable reviews and some models have telescoping bracket arms.  They also have models that can be expanded (with extra-cost adapters) from say a 3-monitor setup to a 3-monitor setup with a fourth monitor on top.

Because of the weight and cost I would think that using this system would also require attaching the mount to a desk but they don't seem to recommend that.  I would thus guess that these units depend on balancing the weight of the assembly so that it doesn't easily tip over if bumped.

A very good day Phil,
I had Ergotech 1 x 3 Quad Desk Stand with 28-Inch Pole - Black (100-D28-B13) and my experience was not so good, in my opinion it was quite unstable and even after a few modifications (securing it with a few additional clamps) I decided to give up on it.
Maybe some other models will do the trick but have no intel at all.

Alex

Thanks for the comments.   I have much more confidence in PSX forum members than the random noise that so commonly is present in so many other sites.

Here's another interesting option by this company, but I probably don't need the extra adjustments and features.  The construction looks more robust but as with the more basic configurations, it's hard to tell by just looking at advertising photos.

Hi all, I am using a few Dell 17" LCDs. They have a built in stand which allows you swivel, pan and rotate the screen.

I will be looking at designing (or finding someone who can design); LCD specific mounts situationally placed like a flat based trainer.

Ben
