Sending PSX weather to FSX/P3D (VisualPSX)

Hi there -- I am using OPUS to inject weather now into P3D conjunction with live metar downloads for PSX, this works fine.

I am attempting to try the 'Send PSX weather to FSX' function with VisualPSX (without runnning OPUS) but I only see clear skies (yes it was a rainy day). I see flashing every few seconds. It seems like VisualPSX is trying to inject the weather but it clears up by default?

Thank you,

Ben

The way we have sort of managed to get this to work.

ASN shows weather on P3D,  Weather from PSX via VisualPSX is unticked, and then adjusting the weather on PSX to sort of imitate what ASN is giving P3D,  sounds alot of fuss, but we have managed to do flights and be within a few minutes of actual flights.

Also by planning using PFPX and then loading route into ASN we seem to get what we want for a flight

Thankyou for the tips dts,

I am trying to inject PSX weather to FSX to compare between a commercial FSX/P3D weather program and PSX.

I would assume injecting PSX weather (if I can do so) would provide the most accurate visuals matching up with the returns on the radar.

Regards.

Im having the same trouble. It seems that PSX does not inject weather into FSX. I have only blue skies..I checked that "Send PSX weather to FSX" is active in Visual PSX but it still does not inject weather. I have selected in FSX the weather mode "clear skies". Maybe thats the issue?

Any advise?
Thanks
Nic

I am having the same issues.  Everytime I check "Send PSX weather to FSX", the weather clears up in FSX and it is only clear blue sky regardless of the weather generated by PSX.  It seems in this case that FSX defaults to the "Clear skies" setting.  Does anyone have any suggestions on the proper settings to get this to work?

Settings probably won't help; I think this needs to be looked into by Garry when he is back from his travels.

I noticed that when I load a situ, initially the weather is actually correct in FSX (I can then even see the data in the FSX "Weather" menu).
But "after a while" (seconds to minutes) it switches to the FSX default "clear sky" non-weather.
However, I haven't been able to determine, what exactly triggers "after a while"; it seems e.g. not to be related to PSX switching zones.

Later on, clouds (when appropriate) may occasionally flash up, but only for a very short moment.

So my impression is that "some" PSX weather actually makes it into FSX but is then (repeatedly) overwritten by FSX "clear sky".

Cheers,
Martin

If ... I remember well, WideView:

http://www.wideview.it/

suffered also a long time from  this problem in the past.

In fact WideView also (!) injects MSFS-server-weather into MSFS-clients.

May be there is help or information on that forum:

I remember that the author: Luciano Napolitano, was always very helpfull.

Thank you Martin.  Your experience mirrors mine, so it is at least comforting to know that it does not appear to be an isolated issue.  I guess we will have to wait to hear from Garry upon his return.  Out of curiosity, do other users of PSX and Visual PSX not have this issue?

Just to add a data point, I'm seeing the same behavior as well. Clear skies except for a brief flicker of clouds for moment or two periodically.
