Here my next video from PSX:

"workstaiton" with 3 screens 19 " (panel) and one 24""  outside view. :P

Great stuff!

We need to chip in and buy you a big TV for the outside view :)

Just a thought - there is an option in PSX to turn off the windshield view if you don't need the PSX  visuals - can only help with smoothness....

Hi,

a TV is a good idea, but 24 " is big enough for me (in the moment ...)
I switched off the windshield view, may be it works more with smoothness.

I have also a Beamer, no problem to conect to see the outside view in 8 x 3 feet.

Hope you don't mind me asking but what are you using to generate the outside view? FSX, P3D or X-Plane?

Definitely looks like X-Plane to me.

I thought they drove in the right hand lane in Germany?

The greenskeepers would like you to replace your divots, Horst  ;)

Your`re right Chris and "Stekeller", it is X-Plane. But I still have FSX not jet tested here with PSX. Perhaps someone can report the outside view with FSX ... and can publish some pictures or a video.

John, the start position  in the video is a bit strange, but I often make holidays in England, so I ´m trained to go on the left side ...

cheers

Thanks. Really nice job there!

Hello Horst,

The cabinet that holds the three primary monitors looks very elegant. Did you custom-build it, or is it an adaptation of an existing design?

Hi Jim,
the cabinet is made from a cabinet maker, the front is aluminum. The 3 screens are hold from metal frames inside. You can see the metal frame in the video (the 4. monitor above the 3 screens).
I designed all by myself. You can see more detail fotos in this forum ...

OmniAtlas

Very nice!

Does anyone know if they sell frames that can house LCDs in a FBT style...or if anyone can design and sell one I would buy it.

Something like this --

Horst

It is very difficult to get these things.
Perhaps you can recherche under
http://www.worldflight.com.au/
or ask John Golin ( here to find before).

They use very good frames / workstations (homemade?), material: wood.

OmniAtlas

Yes thanks, it would be great if there was a more 'professional' installation bench available. An alternative which I have looked at is using pivot, swing LCD mounts.

Here is my current LCD hack with the 'cdu bay' hanging onto another stand.

Hi Horst,
Nice setup!
I have a question, in fsx or prepar you can change the zoom setting.
When I use prepar it always starts up at 0.30 zoom, the lowest it can get, to me this looks odd, so changed it to 1 , if I look at buildings on the airports the look distorted when a lower setting then 1 is used, so asume this is the correct setting,
In xplane you have field of view in degrees , here I set it to 100, which setting  do you use?

Ps: your last picture taken with an ipad?
Mine always are upside down!

Hi Ivo,
I think you mean OmniAtlas, did you (the article before)?

Ivo de Colfmaker

I am sorry, my mistake,
Will edit it out.
So what is the FOV  setting in xplane?

Hi,
I can not say in zoom-  or percent numbers.
I zoomed out at maximum.
