Hi, after upgrading P3D to version 2.3, it no longer works with VisualPsx: in fact it keeps crashing.

Has anyone else observed the same problem?

Andrea

Hey Andrea,

I had a similar problem with the 2.3 update, but a fresh full install of 2.3 cured it.  Its a big download but well worth it.  PSX, VisualPSX and P3D is a phenomenal combination.

Regards,
Richard

Zapp

Oh ... a fresh install you say? With about 300 GB of addons .... omg ....

I'll give it another try ......

Oh btw, what about stutters?

Tnx :-)

Michael Benson

Hi,

I've had no issues running P3D V2.3 with VisualPSX.  My 2.3 crashes were caused by Activesky and FSUIPC - make sure you have the latest of both of them.

Matt Sheil

I posted this a couple of weeks ago.
Do not upgrade it will crash, you have to uninstall correctly and reinstall 2.3 or you will have software failures. Very poor on Prepar as many people have huge amounts of Adonis that must also be reinstalled, took me over a day.
Works great with VisualPSX and the frame rate from the old version to the new version is almost double.
So
Worth all the effort

Zapp

Uhm   it's working now .... frames are pretty good indeed, and of course I dialled many options back: I don't need that much detail after all!

I hope it lasts, otherways it's a wipe&reinstall I'm afraid ...

My PSX is currently stuck with DHL in Thai Customs. Now waiting for the 100% duty bill to arrive with the delivery.
But in the meantime I'm setting up Visual PSX with P3Dv2.3. As P3Dv2.3 does not have a 744, curious to know which aircraft you use in P3Dv2.3 with PSX.
Thanks in anticipation.

any posky one will work, or just copy across the 744 from FSX

How do you guys get Visual PSX to work with Prepar3d , When I Initially loaded Visual PSX it doesn't even find Prepar3d. What am I doing wrong ?

Ivo de Colfmaker

Hi,
did you set the path to Prepar3D and run RunwayPSX  as stated on page 5 of the VisualPSX manual?
I run it with Prepar3D 2.4 and it works ok.

Well I finally have Prepar3d connected as a client and PSX connected as the main server but Prepar3d does nothing, aircraft is load but it doesn't go to the airport selected in PSX. Any suggestions would be helpful

Hi
If PSX and VisualPSX and P3D on 1 pc
instructor station/preferences/basics set client connect to host on port 10747
type in localhost or 127.0.0.1 in the box
if on 2 pc's the IP address of the pc running PSX
main server start
boost server start
start P3D
load the 747
start Visual PSX
on the status screen should be
connected to SimConnect version 2.4 running in Lockheed Martin Prepar3D
at IP address of the P3D machine, in my case 192.168.0.151 port 29764
connected to PSX main server as client 1 at IP address of the PSX machine, in my case 192.168.0.152 port 10747
connected to PSX boost server at IP address 192.168.0.152
port 10749
the IP addresses should be your own of course.
initializing
startup completed
on the connection page the IP address of PSX main server and PSX boost server should be entered.
again in my case 192.168.0.152 on port 10747 for the PSX main server
192.168.0.152 port 10749 for the  PSX boost server
then FSX,PSX , and PSX boost status should read Flight.and you are good to go

It should run fine now?

Make sure you follow the instructions on where to put the various config XML and flight sim connect DLL files, and substitute the paths for the AppData folder for FSX (as in the manual) with those for Prepar3D, e.g. in AppData, look for Lockheed Martin\\Prepar3D, not Microsoft\\FSX...

It worked first try for me.

Cheers

Hi guys,

I have installed the POSKY model in P3D V2.4.
For every flight, after takeoff, I have black smoke behind the engines and sparks around the aircraft visually in P3D. It's like the 4 engines are burning and in fire, even if all parameters are correct in PSX.
Are there some modifications to do with the aircraft.cfg file to avoid this ?

I would like to thank everyone for there help. I did finally get it to run after following your instructions but I had to make the Boost Server 10479 before it would initialize.
Again thanks
