That was quick; and will be considered for the next purchase.  8)

Just want to add my 2 Gilders, I received the FDS CDU even before I got PSX. Peter immediately answered my questions via email prior to ordering, and I can say the hardware works perfectly with PSX and is a lot of fun to use. Although PSX is quite complete and needs nothing, it does add another dimension. I would highly recommend FDS hardware. I believe other components, MCP, EFIS and DSP are still being interfaced.

I did ask Peter about the possibility of a JetMax 747, and he stated his priority now is JetMax 777, so its not on the radar, though Peter should address this himself, I cannot speak for FDS, just passing on info.

FYI: I am using a very slow client computer to drive the CDU, (AMD Turion Mobile 2.01Ghz, 1.93 gigs RAM). PSX still loads pretty fast even though the hardware it is well below the minimum recommended.

Hey guys,

Came across this Control Loading Simulator Yoke a few months ago. It's a USB and TCP/IP designed yoke which might be ideal with PSX. I believe it will be going into production shortly.

Quote from: jlpilotHi Hardy,

I am still waiting for my copy of PSX but that hasn't stopped me from planning way ahead! I've been doing a bit of research on all the hardware options available for the 747 and thought it might be a good idea to create a sticky "hardware" thread with a supported, not supported or pending status. That might prevent multiple posts asking the same questions while making it easier to see what works and doesn't work at the moment.

I've found most of what I'm looking for but I'm stuck on the 747 Throttle Quadrant. I'm looking for a replica quadrant and as far as I know, only two companies can produce it at the moment, Flight Deck Solutions and maybe Throttletek. I've sent emails to both companies and I'm awaiting a response. Anyone know of any other options?

So far I've found the following companies for other hardware components...

747 Yoke (Both single and dual linked versions)
www.737yoke.com

747 Throttle Quadrant, MIP, Yokes, Rudders and many other components
www.flightdecksolutions.com

Boeing Stye Rudder Pedals
www.flypfc.com

747 MCP, DSP & EFIS Controls
www.cpflight.com

Hispapanels - Various panels (Radios, Transponder, Custom Panels, etc)
www.hispapanels.com

Maybe you guys can add a few more?

Kind regards,

Jermaine Lindsay

Last month I took the opportunity to travel to Canada to visit Peter Cos at Flight Deck Solutions (http://www.flightdecksolutions.com/). Peter gave me a comprehensive tour and I saw many of the products they had developed. The facilities were impressive.

I saw both the JetMax product line (http://www.jetmax.ca/) and components that would go into their Professional Fixed Based Trainers. The two product lines are not the same and the prices are relative to the sophistication of the product.  Any potential purchaser should contact Peter Cos to discuss their requirements.

I have had no problem with obtaining information from Flight Deck Solutions and Peter has promptly responded to any enquiries.

That's pretty cool! I'm currently living in the UK at the moment but will be re-locating to Canada in the next few months. Would definitely love to go see the facility!

I can't find a vendor selling 747 throttle quadrants. Many many 737 TQ on sale - is there just a lack of interest?

Hi Ben,

I believe lack of demand is the issue. I had the same problem looking for a 777 quadrant. I guess long haulers aren't nearly as popular as 737s and A320s.

Throttletek will make a 747 replica TQ but you'd have to contact them for pricing. As far as I know, the only other option is Flight Deck Solutions.

FDS will be releasing a new line of products for the ethusiast :) http://www.flightdecksolutions.com/news/new-mx-series-product

Only the 777 ones are shown atm: http://www.flightdecksolutions.com/components/b777/b777-glare/fds-b777-mx-mcp1/

Not sure why the text is amber when i think it should be white?

I've contacted Roberto from Throttletek. I'm not sure if he's fine with me posting the cost for a backlit replica 747-400 TQ with speed brakes and flaps lever here, if you're interested either contact him or myself. There's a 10% rebate for 5+ and 20% for 10+ units ordered.

Let me know if you're interested, I'm keeping a tally.

Cheers

Hi Balt,

I may be interested depending on price and function (motorized, backlit?).

I am also from Sydney so perhaps we could also save on shipping :)

jlpilot

Some great new products for the 747 coming up!

As GodAtum stated before, Flight Deck Solutions are releasing the MX
Series Products with the 747 line coming in January 2015

Flight Deck Solutions MX Series Products

......and as Balt stated. Throttletek have announced that they're going to be making a replica 747 Throttle Quadrant which I believe is non-motorised.

interesting. I might be interested in the throttle too but would like to know if it can be supplied with a throttle stand. Also is it USB?

Peter Lang

As I read it, ist the same as the 767 TQ.
USB Connection, Backlight, not motorized.

I think this is a good solution for that price.

Hi guys,
Quote from: OmniAtlasFYI, a review of the opencockpit 747 FMC-

Today I released Plug&Play SIOC scripts for a number of Opencockpit Modules:

You will find scripts for up to three 747FMCv3's, up to three COMM modules (implementing the displays and rotaries of RCP-L, RCP-R and RCP_R), EFIS Left, EFIS Right, MCP (version 1-2 and version 3, these are 737 MCP's adapted to be used as 747 MCP),  Captains Clock, FO Clock and the ATC (Xpdr).

A setup.exe program detects the modules that you have plugged in, and it will make all configuration arrangements (creating PSXocm.lst and sioc.ini files).

You only have to Run PSX, run SIOC, run PSXseecon and you can enjoy the modules.

Note that for the FMC's you have to use a PSX instance with a layout with just the CDU window and to move it on top of the VGA screen of the FMC.

Read more about in the PSX OCM Manual at my PSXseecon website.

Cheers,
Nico

Could someone tell them the box is called CDU or MCDU, not FMC.

And that "CDU" is not a synonym of "FMC" either.
