petcmc, you will have lost any patience or genuine attempts to assist you with your shouting and profanity. We can all see you are very angry but the way you are dealing with this matter is not helping your case. All you have achieved is to leave us very perplexed as to what your issues are and to make us sad that you couldn't conduct yourself in a respectful manner, which is the hallmark of this forum. Calm down, and let the many fine users of this forum attempt to help you.

But, on the issue of a refund, Hardy is right. Any one of us could have paid for PSX and then sought a refund. Hardy has no way to know if all copies have been deleted.

There was sufficient information available, including videos, screenshots and approximately 300 pages of the manual, to enable a potential purchaser to make an informed decision on whether to spend a large sum of money. I am sorry if you are truly unhappy but it is a case of buyer beware.

Rather than shout and swear at Hardy, try to make the best of this situation and see if the users of this forum can assist to improve your PSX experience.

Opened software has not been returnable for a good many years. It was noted on the web site when you placed your order and it is probably spelled out on your receipt. Since you are not going to get your money back, your time would be better spent joining the community.

The learning curve on this simulator is quite steep. Like all pilot related activity, it requires hours and hours of repetition to learn everything and still out come the check lists!

I am happy to admit that I am totally in over my head here but a good part of the fun is learning things. You might as well join in, it is not like there will be another 747 simulator in our life time.

Unfortunately it seems petcmc has had similar experiences with other software and hardware in the past - I fear his expectations and behaviours are not going to change today...

Delete the thread - not worth anyone to respond or to be on the board  - I don't  like it.  enjoy it.

Do you want me to delete your forum account?

Hardy,

Maybe better to archive him in the cave of unpolite/rude and whinning kids style people. This guy, saddly, is only a classic in our modern internet society.

Sad to read this thread.

I feel the pain of someone who clearly spent money on something he didn't know exactly what was, although since the OP mentions being a PS1 user, it is difficult for me to accept that a previous PS1 user wouldn't know what he was going to get ( ? )

Anyway, since the Instrument Panel views are one of the complains, I wonder if he really gave it a fair try, because indeed this, and the overall graphics of PSX clearly outperform what we had in PS1!

Then I wonder if, just like me, he might have missed the proper calibration of his controllers? This can actually make quite a difference, and I was a "victim" of the wireless keyboard and high NEUTRAL syndromes myself :-)

If I was rich, I would certainly buy his copy from him, and use it for demonstration at my office, just to show my colleagues ( meteorologists ) how special / detailled  the weather engine and simulation are.

I hope the OP ends up finding out that something was wrong with his first look at PSX, and ends up profiting the extraordinary simulation of a b744 it actually is.

petcmc doesn't actually not like PSX he is actually angry with himself because he is 60 years old and missed the explosion of the computer and software age and now can't figure out how it works.

It seems that he has trouble reading as well as there is a beautiful manual that comes with this one of a kind software!

PSX is brilliant!!!

What a chop!

Sir petcmc,

We're all here to help each other with any teething issues, and enjoy the product - apart from the layout you haven't described what exactly it is you are disappointed with - if you are running PSX on one PC, with one monitor, I don't see what issues you would face with networking - even if it is fairly simple to network this product.....

QuoteManual is 600 pages and not helpful

As for the 600 page manual, can you tell us where it is not able to help you with your setup? Are you saying it is too long? In what procedure that you are attempting is it not helpful? Why not ask the forum if you can't get something working?

As for the layout, HH and others have posted a lot of detail on what it would look like, before and after it's release -

Hi all

normally I am the "quiet" reader, and not the poster. I'm running my copy of PSX for a few days, wow, what a piece of software!

Btw: thanks Hardy for all your efforts and this great sim!

Just my 2$ words to petcmc

-   there have been tons of screen shots posted over the times (even a collection of all!!!!) – so no reason to be surprised

-   We can rearrange the panel to our own discretion, not only one instance on one PC, no network necessary

-    just ask POLITELY, and you will have lot of help here – this, for sure, has been proven in the past – the way you are going is false in a forum, and in "real live" as well!! I guess you should know this by your age ;o)

-   I have lot of manuals from LH, BOEING etc. at home. The trainings manual of the 777 is more than 6000 (six thousand) pages – this is a complex plane, not a kitchen accessory – and not a single manual is a 1:1 "how to go" instruction. Again: all is VERY complex

So calm down, an have a look at the quality of the displays: a never before seen quality and smoothness, compared with the flexibility for any thinkable arrangement on either one or more displays / computers.

Thanks again Hardy, and servus aus Wien ;o)

Below are some relevant excerpts from Aerosoft USA's "terms and conditions".  For complete info, see the linked web page.

================================

http://www.aerosoft.com/shop-us/agb.html

================================
EXCERPT 1:

Terms

The customer accepts these terms and conditions by ordering at Aerosoft USA.
All orders are legally binding placed in our web-shop, received by e-mail, or by a letter.
Aerosoft USA reserves the right to refuse an order for any reason.

Opened boxes oblige customer to buy the product with the exception of evidently defective articles.
Product exchange is possible within 14 days after receiving. Problems of defective software have to be reported immediately to Aerosoft USA.

We only accept returns with a RMA number. The number will be issued by calling Aerosoft USA at 781- 636 0366 or by e-mail to usa@aerosoft.com.
-----------------
EXCERPT 2:

Return Policy

Customer has the right to withdraw his order by returning the product within two (2) weeks after purchase and proof of purchase like order number. Aerosoft USA, Inc. doesn't accept opened or damaged boxes. We only accept pre-paid shipments.

---------------------------------------------------

Part of selecting a retail vendor is to investigate and make sure their Terms and Conditions are acceptable *before* making a purchase.  In the case of Aerosoft, their Terms and Conditions are published on the web and are readily accessible.

I don't personally see how the forum or its inhabitants can help with issues related to a vendor's Terms and Conditions.   Each vendor sets their Terms and Conditions according to each country's laws and traditions and their business requirements.   Also, I don't see how expecting to ignore or bypass a vendor's Terms and Conditions has *anything* to do with Hardy as the PSX creator - AFAIK, he does not provide retail sales.

I hope this additional information and a few personal comments are helpful.
Best wishes,

Phil Bunch

Quote from: petcmcI have had the new product for about a week - I want a refund! Waist of money for me!

The panel set up is absurd

The original product is actually better

 :'(

Something tells me that a few months from now (after you've come to terms with Aerosoft denying your request for a refund), you're going to give PSX another try.  And if you put in even a modicum of effort, no doubt you will then look back on this post as an embarrassing lapse in judgment.

See you in a few months.  (Pssst, you might consider creating a new profile before then.  You know, so you can start with a clean slate.)
