To further the sharing and learning-

For my 65" 1080p TV monitor-

For my 15 Retina MBP (using non-retina 1680 x 1050)-
https://app.box.com/s/rw60p38zkf1fuqwcbhkl

Still so much to learn, so if there are other more "optimized" layouts, please add here.....

Thanks, guys, for sharing layouts.  This is very helpful. I'm taking on board these ideas and will play around this weekend when I'm off work. As I'm running PSX on a 13" Macbook Pro - yes, I know it's mad - I'm still tinkering with layouts. I'll upload my layouts for my 13" over the weekend.

I also want to spend some time building layouts around Hardy's advice of having a PFD in the centre of the screen and as large as possible.

I just love the endless possibilities with PSX and the flexibility we have to create our own working environments.

Lol! Yes, absolutely. It's what I meant to say.

My lack of accuracy in communication does not bode well for a safe flight experience on my aircraft.  Just as well this is a simulation.

An example using two monitors (configured as a single virtual screen of 3840x1200).

In the zip is a pdf showing the various layouts for those who would like to see the arrangement without loading the 9pack, and (from Martin's indispensable ELVis) a jpg showing the coverage of all layouts.

This is still very much a work in progress, as you will see.    8)

Note: The link above does not go directly to a ZIP file even though it looks like it.

If you left-click it, all is well: you'll go to the Dropbox page from which you can then download.

But if you right-click and then chose "Save as..." (to directly get the file), you'll end up downloading that Dropbox web page, not the ZIP itself.
And as this HTML file still has a *.zip extension, your archive extractor will try to open it and then choke on it.

Not a big deal, but mentioned to spare people some head scratching perhaps.  :D

Cheers,
Martin

Thank you, Martin!     :)

Interesting....  Not sure why the Dropbox link behaves like that (and I don't recall it doing so previously).

So much for trying to save Hoppie some bandwidth.

The actual link seems to be this one (which *can* be right-clicked in the usual way): https://www.dropbox.com/s/h6b9unss9zdw60o/Brian%27s%202-screen%20layouts.zip?dl=1

Arkady

I am currently using 2 networked PSX running on one Mac (a 2013 27" iMac i7 & the external monitor is a 26" LG Flatron unit).

I am having issues with the Aerowinx window that is open on the external monitor jumping over to the iMac monitor when selecting different layout screens (from the 9 pack selection via either the numeric keypad or the USB/joystick buttons)?  How can I keep it from jumping monitors on me?  (I am not trying to stretch across screens - the "Displays have separate Spaces" check box is checked in Preferences>Mission Control)

Also, when cycling through the various layout screens - some of the window screens suddenly change to a much smaller size window.  Is there some way of keeping the windows from altering sizes (ie- to keep them full size on the monitor screen)?

If anyone can help sort this out it would be greatly appreciated.

Best regards,

Each .9pack had 9 different positions, each contains it's own set of coordinates:

eg: screenX=0, screenY=0, screenW=1920, screenH=1080

X/Y is the corner, W/H is the size of the screen

If you have a second screen and you want all 9 slots to be mapped to it, you have to update all 9 screenX/Y positions or you will be jumping between screens.

Try this one:

As mentioned, this keeps evolving..... here's the latest MacBook Pro iteration whilst on the road....

Please consider sharing your layouts... it could be most helpful to those just starting...

Hi Will,
How do I get your 9pack onto my PSX? Thanks

Right click on the hyperlink and select "Save As" to your Aerowinx "Layouts" folder. Select the 9pack on the Instructors Layout page.

Hi,

here's a pic of my testing-environment so far!

The two screens (22" and 21") on the left, are one PC with dual output, the right one is a networked Sony 20" touch device!

Best regards

dts

current multicrew setup,  these are twitch views,  only physically seperated by 170 miles so not bad for two pilot crew

Got it thanks. Just to add, you need to take away the txt extension that comes up (at least it does on my Mac) before saving.
