Very cool video shot on a B747-200F, for MK Airlines I believe...

v cool indeed...

so it's possible to lower the nose gear independently without the MLG...?  wonder how that's done....

Avi

Easy.
The classic has individual switch for every gear.
Check this photo.

It can be done also on the B744 but you need to pull out some circuit breakers.

just a switch then....

also the auto brake switch has no RTO position.....

What's the RADAR ALERT switch on the exterior lights panel? Is this an exterior light?

Hardy

I only have a TWA and a generic B742 FCOM, and it must have been an option, for its not described in either manual.

Hardy Heinlin

Perhaps a weather radar alert light?

I.e. a testicle protection warning light?

O-O

Jeroen Hoppenbrouwers

Plausible; though you wonder how effective it will be if it isn't linked to the weather radar itself. Unless this switch forces the light OFF but then you would expect OFF and AUTO. Not that there is much AUTO on the Classic.

In fact, there are a few exterior lights (taxi lights, runway turnoff lights) that have "ON/OFF" labelled switches, but that are automatically off when airborne.
