WIde-format projector - suitable for flight sim cockpits?

Started by Phil Bunch, Tue, 26 Feb 2013 01:47

Is this projector suitable for providing a seamless view from the front windows of a flight sim's cockpit?

It seems that it can provide a wide-angle, high-resolution image, without seams.  Would this be better than other options such as multiple, overlapping projectors?
Best wishes,

Not really. It has a maximum display ratio of only 2.37:1 after letterboxing.

Three old standard projectors of 4:3 ratio have a combined ratio of 12:3 = 4:1.

Three current standard 16:9 projectors have a combined ratio of 48:9 = 5.33:1.

The projectors don't need letterboxing.

This is probably a very silly question, but what is 'letter boxing'?
