World's scariest airports - photos by UK Guardian newspaper

In some ways it's too bad that the old Kai Tak airport has disappeared.  Fortunately, I got to land and take off there during an extended business trip, and it was certainly an interesting experience.

The Tenzing-Hillary airport is my personal choice as the world's scariest airport.  I recently watched a TV documentary about the airport, with video of landings, and I was quite amazed.

Does anyone strongly disagree with the Guardian's selections?
Best wishes,

They've obviously never had to brave the locals at YMHB... now THAT is scary!

Krugersdorp FAKR  Krugersdorp Airport 26°04′54″S 27°43′32″E 5,499

is the craziest airport I have ever landed on (more like a loud arrival)  and I would consider myself fairly experienced and it took me about 4 circling approaches to "build up the nerve" to shoot it... is it basically a road with cliffs either end and it is banked if I recall at about 35 degrees to the left and in the middle of no where.. but then again thats African flying for you .. and one can not beat that if you ever get the opportunity its a great place to fly

and the most insane taxiway would be this one

Johannesburg   FALA   HLA   Lanseria International Airport   25°56′23″S 27°55′29″E   4,517

in closing flew a queen air in and out of those two

Since it's not big enough for airliners, let alone a 744, KAVX Catalina, CA is not included.  But it's scary enough - check it out in Google Earth views. I think it was featured in some scenes in Aviator.  Maybe Hardy could add a 'scary' switch to turn on air fields only an idiot or a PSX driver would land a 744 on.

Not to blow my own trumpet, but I have landed myself as PIC at Catalina!
