VR: 108 KIAS
V2: 135 KIAS
Vref 30: 122 KIAS
Vref 25: 125 KIAS

For 1000.000 LB sea level, dry RWY no else corrections
V1: 165 KIAS
VR: 182 KIAS
V2: 196 KIAS
Vref 30: 186 KIAS
Vref 25: 190 KIAS

For the VSD you can check out this link.

The software is basically the same, so don't mind its a B737. On the middle of the page you find it...

Thanks Lasse and Blake! Great resource.

No performance questions - got it.

My next question is about the electronic checklist. I see the button in photos (some excellent hi-res ones are available here of a Korean Air 747-8 that was just delivered)

http://www.flickr.com/photos/flightblogger/sets/72157629280320497/

I have seen it in action in 777 videos and assume it works the same way. You just select the button and it takes you to the beginning of the sequence (before start, etc.) but is it just a check box or does it actually verify you perform the selected action in some way?

And another quick one. I notice in the photos that there is only now only one display switching knob above the PFD/ND displays. I assume it is because of the new EICAS mode switch that lets you select what display you want the EICAS to be on? Also, how do you get the airport diagram to display on the ND?

I guess that was 2 questions. Sorry!

Hi Blake:

OK, wow, thanks!

I am going to digest this for a little while.

Good evening gentlemen,

I hate to say this, but please check the copyright, -- remember, this is a public forum and I don't want to be forced to shut it down. All these texts are word by word copied from Seattle.

No problem with quotes, but these posts are several pages long.

Cheers,

Do you want me to remove it Hardy? Have you had someone from Boeing have an issue with it?

It is not details how to build the aircraft. Just quotes how to operate the aircraft.
This is promoting Boeing. Without public interest there is no Boeing.

Give it 2 months it will be on every torrent site on the net anyway.  8)

Hardy Heinlin

Yes, please remove it.

Check the copyright notice on the bottom of the pages that you pasted and copied. I'm not the copyright owner of these pages. For discussions on permission or marketing strategies, please contact Seattle. I'm just responsible for this forum.

The copyright thought had actually crossed my mind here too, but I thought this is Hardys forum. It might be Blake, that the FCOM, QRH, FCTM and similar can be found in a couple of months on pirate sites. Boeing deals with that in a different way, however I know that another site with a maintenance forum had to be shutdown until ALL Boeing material was removed and disclaimer was established, if no further action was to be taken - and that would be sad if this should happen here too... The Seattle guys mean what they write in the foreword/front page and on every page in the bottom...

stekeller

OK, HH has a point.

But it should still be possible for Blake to put in his words what he reads in the manuals without copying it verbatim, right?

Yes, Stephen, that is not copying. Same as when pursuing studies, you may read others' works and paraphrase them in your own words. But copyright is copyright. And Boeing, like any other commercial venture interested in keeping control of what it says, have every right in law to defend its property. That has to include flight simmers.
Cheers, Richard

There HAS to be a word for this kind of 'logic'.  I thought of 'Special Pleading', but that's not quite comprehensive enough.

This "logic" is simply against the basis of all ethics.

Legalize theft because many people steal anyway.

Legalize everything because many people do what they want anyway.

Noted. Maybe I was pushing it a bit. I Am very excited with the 7478 new features and wanted to share them with you guys. But at the same time I am not going to infringe the copyright of the manual.

Here is one that has cross my mind your sim is going to be very close to the real deal.  With other flight simulation software what does the manufacturer say and do they want any royalties? Doesn't your sim do what the real aircraft does and tech data in PS1 manual reflect the real aircraft. I am guessing the aircraft is legally protected by Boeing. I had a bad feeling that the manufactures might go the sim community in the future. The hello generic simming.   :'(

Next question? Have to keep them short and directed to a short answer.

Its good te be aware of the fact Boeing is quite strictly with their copyrights.

I remember one case a Dutch site published a photo's of the first KLM 777 taken at testphase at Seattle by a private photographer.

They had to remove this photo!

In China by the way they have another interpretation of copyright.

"Copyright is the right to copy"

I don't sell duplications, I sell cockpit paintings and simulations that I created myself. I once duplicated the trademarks "Boeing" and "747", that was in 1997. The trademarks were printed in the PS1 manual and on the instructor's page. Boeing wanted me to remove them from the product. From 2000 on, in PS1.3, they were all removed and Boeing was happy. That's why it's been "744" from then on.

Well,

The manual may not be on line. But someone has made the 747-8F CBT available so you can take it on line - but, who knows for how long?

http://www.gssdasheight.co.uk/

Really good information, even for the 747-400 "drivers".
