Actual sound levels in cockpit (SPL)

Good evening

I am trying to find out the actual real sound level to "calibrate" my 6ch audio system for PSX (Setup as recommended in the PSX manual on page 97). I have tried to search the forum as well as the general internet for actual SPL numbers but the closest I get is "in the 80´s dB" in cruise at M.85 and secondly up to 100dB at takeoff in cockpit (which I find hard to believe)

Anyone on the forum have actual SPL measurements from the cockpit you can share?

Watching this with interest.  We calibrated my sim to what we thought was realistic at the time then after a week turned it down to something more bearable.

75 dBA is mentioned in a lot of places as generally safe.
80 dBA if not more than eight hours per day.

There is a limit to the amount of realism you want...

Jeroen mentioned it, but dBA is the measurement. It measures the pressure wave. How "loud" it seems depends on many factors. Even the cabin altitude affects the noise levels.

It's important to note that the scale is logarithmic. 80 dBA is ten times the power of 70 dBA.

I wouldn't think you want to go that loud. We had to wear sound-cancelling headsets.
