Bearing/DME at a FIX

On setting up my FMC for an approach I go into the FIX page and enter the name of the fix then I will drop down and enter /3 in line one.  This should create a 3 mile arc around the fix.  On my approach to VHHH I entered VH721 and then the /3.  When checking I noticed there was no bearing displayed for the fix.

That's normal. VH721 is a route waypoint, thus there's no intersection to the route. And if there's no intersection, there's no bearing to display. To get a bearing you need to set an off-route fix.
