Hi Victor,

new user as well here ;)
From what I've read so far I'd guess there are two approaches (unsure if the second works though).

First:
You could go for the "classic" way and span the window across the screens/monitors.

Second:
Start a second PSX (from my understanding this has to be a full copy of the installation) and have it connect as slave to the first instance.

As mentioned - I didn't try the second approach by myself yet, but in theory it *might* work.

Cheers

Yoshi

Just checked if the described second approach works out of curiousity, seems to be a success.

Hi

there is no need for another copy of PSX.

You can start a second (or third ...) instance of PSX out of the same installation.

One of the two instances should act as server, the other as client. So, you need to setup both instances correctly, and connect to localhost or 127.0.0.1.

Then, drag them to the desired position/monitor. Save the layouts of both instances (.9pack) and both preferences (.pref) as well.

Don't forget, to tell each instance, with which layout they should start! You can do all this very comfortably in the instructor window!

Finally: open the AerowinxNetStart.ini, and insert the name of your two .pref files saved in the previous step. For example:

MainMonitor.pref
SecondMonitor.pref

Save it, and you're done.

From now on, start with AerowinxNetStart.jar, and both PSXs will be open automatically.

I hope, that was not tooo technically  :o

Cheers
Hans

True - but they would run from identical configuration, let alone files which are in use by both processes, or am I missing something?

Yes - identical from all installed files (PSX version, audio etc.)

BUT DIFFERENT according to your settings in prefs, layouts etc.

Hans is right.

See Aerowinx manual, page 83.

Just situational variables are synchronized (including model variables).

Layout and Preferences remain individual on each PSX instance.

You only need another copy if you use another computer.

thanks this evening I'll try ... thanks for taking the time

I do this... Instance #1 is on a large monitor, and instance #2 is just the left CDU screen, which is on the "monitor" of the hardware MCDU by Flight Deck Solutions.

I set it up using Hardy's tutorial (above) plus some extra steps to get the second instance appropriately presented on the CDU.

See below. This is just presented as one (simple) example of what you can do with two instances of PSX.

sorry i tried but one problem when i switch from one screen to 2-3-4 the window goes black i have 2 gpu and 7 monitors.....

Will

Can't help without more information, but there's a different procedure for stretching one instance across several monitors and having a second instance on separate monitors.

For the former case (one instance, several monitors): make sure you go to Instructor > Preferences > Basics and select "Allow frame stretching across multiple monitors."

It's better to ask add-on related questions in the "Accessories" subforum ...
