Yes, I'm using Windows 150% scaling. If I use 100%, then the desktop icons are too small to see comfortably.

I recall that there are ways within Java to have Java apps either play along with Windows scaling, or exempt themselves from it. This has caused me some difficulties in the past when setting PSX up on a new computer--which I did this past January, and then three or four years before that. Since it's only something I ever do rarely, I tend to forget all about the details. I'm only mentioning this in case your layout display looks wildly off of what you expect. (It wouldn't explain a 25 pixel gap.)

Hello again Will,

I thought you would not use the full 3840 x 2160 resolution because in your layout file you use:

Code Select Expand

screenW=2560
screenH=1440

But this might be a result of Windows app and text scaling when multiple monitors with different resolutions are attached.
I received my new 4K monitor a few days and updated my layout file accordingly.
And my full height/width layout sections show the following width and height values:

Code Select Expand

screenW=2567
screenH=1415
These are also quite a bit away from the physical screen resolution but very close to what you shared.
And these values make sense with Windows 150% app scaling.

I will check whether I still need to maintain the task bar gap...

Integration with the VATSIM oauth probably isn't as difficult as it sounds when someone creates an acars account going forward, could probably put you in touch with someone that knows it inside out, helped me out during AFV development.

All issues with people being bellends is when messaging VATSIM users after all.

Just because many people know more than one and discussion tends to be enlightening.

I always had some "jokers" on my ACARS system that like to get themselves a throwaway e-mail account, register a logon code, and start sending offensive and harassing messages to random targets. Some of these targets then contact me to see whether there is anything to be done (they are always very friendly and understanding concerning my role in this). I implemented some traditional weak stoppers with word filters and I block out accounts that have sent stupid stuff but this, obviously, won't break the chain.

I don't have the resources and don't plan to implement hard identity verification on Hoppie's ACARS.

E-mail addresses used to be an okay way to link an ACARS account to a person, but nowadays it is not even close to sufficient. SMS texts would be better, but I don't know about free services that are not selling the phone number on to commercial spammers. Using Microsoft, Google, or Apple oauth services may be a way out, but also introduces maintenance work when they change. The same for using oauth to VATSIM, IVAO, or some other organisation. But it may work.

So, let's discuss.

Due to the fact that I have had issues with my service provider modem and its faulty cache before I may try a factory default and reload my settings. That seemed to fix slow access a few months ago. The Netcomm they provide may have caching issues. I amy also look to see if there is a firmware update as well...
