Title: RAM mounts for tablet?
Post by: GodAtum on Thu, 9 Jun 2022 09:30
Anyone use these to mount a tablet like an ipad (https://www.ram-mount.co.uk/ram-twist-lock-suction-cup-mount-with-round-plate-with-hardware?search=RAM-B-166-202U&sort=p.sort_order&order=ASC&limit=50)?

Was thinking of using the suction cup to stick to the checklist on my 747 yoke, but not sure if that'll make it too near me and get in the way.

Try these guys, they make the ones used in 747's and they are amazing
The ram will stick out a long way
Cheers,
Matt

Thanks for the tip Matt. But won't the suction cups still stick out if I mount it on the yoke?

Or maybe mount it on the MIP top with a longer arm? The problem is I've got no side walls atm.

If you are in improvisation mode anyway, why not go GA/fighter?  There are knee board straps for tablets:

I did see those, can you use the rudder while doing that (I've never flown GA)? Will that get in the way when one pulls back on the yoke?
