Title: TAKEOFF REF Uplink and Bleed Configuration
Post by: Mariano on Mon, 13 Sep 2021 15:28
Hi, Everybody,

Question for operators who use the TAKEOFF REF uplink option on the NG FMC (or 757/767 Pegasus, 777, etc.).

How does the system (Dispatch) communicate to the flight crew that a packs off, one pack-to-APU, nacelle anti-ice, etc. is integral to the calculated data, and that the crew must configure these systems accordingly in order to obtain the calculated performance out of the aircraft?

Is a separate ACARS message sent informing the crew of required pack/bleed and nacelle anti-ice configuration?

Thank you,

Mariano

In our system at work, the crew sends their desired configuration of bleeds flaps and so on. If the returned configuration is different to lift the weight (need a different flaps and so on), we add it to a free text remark called "Restrictions" which is the first briefing item on the crew's performance brief...

What I do as a DX to the flight plan is irrelevant.
