I've pre-ordered 3 copies of the Premium Deluxe Edition  ;D God hope it all works, but I guess so as Gary is testing it!

I saw the system requirements, and it said 150GB Disk space....So, dropped it immediately. Currently, I am running X-Plane and AEROWINX on an AURORA r6 1080 with 85GB Space left..No plans to upgrade anytime soon..Would have liked to check it out though!!!

Good thing you won't have to rely on the Flight Dynamics...

Looks great though :-)

I think the game pass only provides the standard edition, which is incomplete for me needs.

It looks like it's PC only, either using a PC or Xbox Game Pass on a PC.

An Xbox release is planned, though no specific date (or even time frame) is given.

Can anyone give a hint as to how easy multi-pc setup is? P3D is a pain, but XP11 is so easy to setup a server and clients.

I'm guessing the key here will be to bridge PSX to run multiple instances of MSFS.

Curious to know whether anyone is aware of any development work being undertaken to enable MSFS to be used as a scenery generator for PSX.

I decided to wait for this purchase once it is released (just to get initial feeling from the community, but now, knowing that there will be a link for PSX, I think that I will go for the premium deluxe version sooner.

Best!

Game pass allows all 3 versions.... so at least you can try before you buy.... I also think you may be able to load on multiple PC's using your game pass, but not confirmed yet.

Now that the NDA's lifted hopefully testers can answer my questions  :D

1/ How easy it is to sync multiple sims? I really like the XP11 way of networking, rather then the ball ache of simconnect!

2/ Can weather, traffic etc be synced?

3/ How smooth is it with PSX?

4/ How would I do a no cockpit view?

5/ I am using a cloud PC, can I install this on Windows Server 2019?

6/ I need to install 3 copies on 3 different PCs for my flightdeck setup. is that possible or do I need to create separate Microsoft accounts?

7/ What model does PSx use, I don't think there's a 747-400 only an 800?

8/ Does warping software work?

NDA has only been lifted for some select Media Partners.

The system requirements state 150GB FREE SPACE. That requirement took the steam out of my enthusiasm to explore MSFS 2020. Currently, my PC has about 85GB free space and handles X-Plane 11 easily with 45-50FPS (Sliders at Medium settings) and VULKAN.

My PC is AURORA R6, Alienware....So, would it still work and handle MSFS 20?

I have noticed that FlightDeck2Sim already released some videos. Scenery visuals look very good.
B748 and A32N will most likely not be a quality of PMDG / FSLabs, so third party developers will still be necessary (for us PSX fliers, this is not the case :) ).

I would love to know / see, how default airports at less frequented destinations look. I am also interested how LZIB and area around it looks like. Does it resemble real world state or is it just 'a building/terminal', with appropriate taxiways and correct stands.

I know that my systems can handle it, and I do plan upgrade GPU on my desktop PC. I am looking forwards to it.

Best!

Honestly, simply forget about pretty much al default aircraft, with the exception of one or 2 props...

Scenery and weather wise it is a HUGE improvement over previous versions, and far better than anything available for XP.

Scenery detail is ASTOUDING. I went flying from my base of operations - LPMN - and it's almost 100% just like IRL, including surrounding airfields that we sometimes use for x-country arrivals when not being able to reach home.

All portuguese airports I have tried are superbly represented as default airports, better than the best commercial products I ever used for fs9/fsx/p3d or xp.

Default ATC is also significantly improved, and AI is very interesting too. AT release time it'll be VATSIM-ready.

At LOW settings it what I have tested. If move the sliders to the right it's still playable, and the graphics / scenery become even more astounding. But at LOW and some sliders fine tuned, I get 30 fps easily in my rather old desktop - i5 2500 and 16 GB DDR3 RAM. GPU is Nvidia GTX 960 4 GB, so also rather outdated.

I look fwd for the final integration with Meteoblue for the weather.

I think the biggest thing here is to think back to default FSX with zero addons.  You can then see the real future for this sim!

For us, it is going to be the ultimate scenery generator.

From what I have read, you can install it on multiple PCs but can only run one instance at a time. Asobo has stated that they will add support for home cockpits but it won't be there at the launch (pop out views, outside view only, etc.). No mention of simultaneous running of MSFS on multiple PCs.

Steam purchase here. Took me 2hrs this morning, from 7 till 9 AM, Standard version only.
Didn't have the time to use it after install - maybe tonight.
Was a lot easier to define where I wanted it to get installed than with the Alpha / Beta versions.

Took over 4 hours to download via xbox game pass but finally installed. Tried a night time take off from YSSY, but all of the controls have changed so had to remap a lot of keys in the settings to get my old FS hardware to do as it used to. I have set Medium in the options but it took a long time to come up the first time I loaded it. It also froze on the get started screen but when I hit the ESC key it came good....

Will have another try with it at some stage but not today :)

Last night (Australia time) Aus Flight Simmer did a live stream on You Tube as he did an island hop to Bora Bora airport (NTTB) in French Polynesia. The stream went for about 4 hours and had just over 400 viewers from around the world. Toward the end of the flight the online networking/playing functions of MS FS2020 were enabled so many of the viewers joined the flight and started to engage in an ad hoc landing competition at Tupai airport (NTTU). You can see the result if you jump to the last 15 minutes or so of the You Tube video. The event involved many light aircraft, and larger including a 787 and 747. To get this multiplayer function to work the players had to make sure they were all connected to the same server (South Asian) which can be set within the program. I believe some people initially had a problem of not being able to see other aircraft due to being on a different server. The link for the You Tube video is:

These codes ...

AW-P010-0-0
AW-C010-0-0

... are Aerowinx codes. They refer to PSX version 10.0.0 from summer 2014.

These codes are now displayed on the FMC IDENT page of Microsoft's 74-8 model. I guess they thought it's a standard code in the real FMC (like "747" etc.), and just copied it to their FMC model.

Regarding tribute: I doubt very much that Microsoft would officially put a nod to Aerowinx into their sim.

However, the community of people who write and test simulators is fairly small, and it's within the realm of possibility that someone on the Microsoft development team had some familiarity with PSX or PS1.3 and threw in a secret nod to a like-minded spirit.

The other possibility is that the Microsoft team didn't have access to an actual FMC was using PSX as the basis for their understanding of what the FMC did and looked like. That's also a form of tribute, I suppose.

Which I think is exactly what happened. It is not at all trivial to "get access to an actual FMC". That basically is the same as either getting access to an aircraft under electrical power at a base, or a full simulator. Neither are attractive, not even for MS, as they both cost a heap of money per hour.

Why criminal, Avi? If they just watched the sim's behaviour and didn't copy my software code, it's fine.

It would've been finer for them, however, if they had used a newer PSX version than 10.0.0 :-)

If they looked how PSX works and took it to MSFS isn't it a problem?
This is why I asked for a picture of the upper EICAS. I want to see how the flaps display appears in it (in a none normal condition).
If it does look like in PSX one can say what do you want? This is how it works. True, but the question is did they do a research work like you or just copied it from PSX? These 2 different things

What are you looking for Hardy?

I wanted to see if the MSFS 748 behaves like PSX version 10.0.0, i.e. whether they copied more than just the Aerowinx FMC IDENT cosmetics.

Now I see it doesn't even behave like PS 0.001. It's a skeleton with only a few internal organs.

More like a "stapes" (Google says it's the smallest bone in the human body) from PSX, and the rest from Asobo imagination heheheh

Flies like a Fortnite Plane, function as a Casio Calculator from the 90s
