Title: Cruise Altitude in PERF INIT Page
Post by: Mariano on Thu, 19 Jul 2018 13:40
On the 767 (PIP and Pegasus ), if you enter a cruise altitude on the PERF INIT page and then request a winds uplink, only winds for the entered cruise altitude will upload. In order to prevent this, we send a winds request before entering a cruise altitude.

The other night, I entered a cruise altitude on the PERF INIT page before requesting winds. When I became aware of this, I went back and tried to delete the altitude, so that I could request winds again. I found out that it is impossible to return line 1 R on the PERF INIT page to dashes (only new entries are allowed).

I could still request and upload winds for different altitudes by manually typing the desired altitudes (remaining three) in the RTE DATA > WINDS pages.

Is anyone aware of a way (workaround) that deletes the cruise altitude, resetting the filed to dashes? I haven't tried deleting the altitude on the CLB and CRZ pages, but I doubt this would work.

Thank you,

Mariano

Pull both FMC CBs and reset them after more than 30 seconds (more than 40 seconds, to be on the safe side).

But you're not allowed to do this, probably :-)

I must admit that I've thought about that... ;-)
