Standby ILS instrument

Good evening,

when the backcourse mode is selected on the mechanical standby ILS in PSX, the GS needle remains in view. Shouldn't the GS needle disappear when in backcourse mode? On the ISFD the GS diamond disappears in this case.

thank you for the reminder; I actually have this book :-) I didn't expect this book would contain the answer :-)

(Yesterday, for fun, I asked the Google AI. It hallucinated and gave the wrong answer. I don't trust AI.)

AI is very inconsistent.

I once had it read an X-ray. It was spot on. Even the doctor was surprised.

Then, I asked it to delve deeper into a subject about which I know a lot, and it kept contradicting itself in the span of a few sentences.

The potential is there, but I do not think that we are there yet.

Perhaps AI trained in very specific fields is much better, but generic AI is a work-in-progress.
