Sorry I was a bit busy with v1.50 I dove into the world of Tkinter and changed the app accordingly.

Do the 777/787 LCD CDUs have antialiasing? On the CRTs the brightness control does not only set the font's brightness but also its boldness. If modern LCDs can do antialiasing, they theoretically can also vary the boldness.

Anyway, if you compare photos, Jamie, you need to compare the brightness settings as well. It's not only a photographic exposure effect but also a variable in the screen systems, I think.

I videoed some brightness CDU brightness settings during flight, I was astonished by the result. Brightness (I never touched it, no need) does do very little on the 777.
In our home cockpits it's maybe quite convenient to be able to dim these screens to a lower level.

As for v1.50 -> @all: check it out! I guess the Python needs v3.1x+ I had troubles with 3.9.x. Then installed 3.14 and everything worked fine GUI wise.

When the above happens, I found out that the solution of the problem is to restart the Unit only (unplug and replug the usb cable).

Nothing else works, like restart PSX or even restart the computer.

I had this as well, also in static mode, maybe only with the Mini controls. I'm still testing... Some USB time out, sleep, I don't know yet.

I was about to post this. It's happening after sometime while i have choose the mini.

The CDU continues to work as expected but the "GUI" have disappeared. If you try to manually disconnect  from PSX and run again the exe , then the problems begin, because i guess the exe is still running somewhere in the back ground.

I found it in the task manager further down and I killed it and the problem stopped.

Now I'm testing 1.52 in mini and so far so good.

Still it gives this error but is working

If you use mini and put it everywhere in your desktop in your monitor or monitors who might have in your set up, then by double clicking it and returns to GUI.

If you put the mini over the taskbar of your main monitor only then by double clicking it, it doesn't return in the GUI but dissapears and you have to manually kill it from the taskbar.

Ah I see that! OK I will fix that. It pops up, but behind the taskbar. If you click on the icon on the taskbar, then ALT+Spacebar (don't touch the mouse) press M then with Arrow Up on your keyboard you can move it back up. But I will change this behaviour.

Looking for the Qi248 error as well.

I think if the error message just displays "Qi248" and not "Qi248=" and some more characters, then the input is really just that: "Qi248" and nothing else, not even a "=" sign.

Yes some stupid leftovers, I did send a Qi248 somewhere. Already found them. Was quick easy fix. For the window problem: fixed as well. I store the window positions now, so going back from "mini controls" to Full -> restores the window to where you clicked "Mini".
Same for the mini controls: i put them back where you left them. Only temporarely, too dangerous to store this in the ini ;-)

Regarding the "stuck CDU-L/C/R buttons" -> I'm still not sure what causes this. It wasn't the PFP<->PSX connection. I had an idea of the USB port falling asleep, but could not find any real info on that. What happens if you Pause PSX, nothing is being sent to the USB port data-content-whise. I don't know about low-level system keep-alive stuff, but anyways.
The program sends a "brightness=<actual value>" to the unit every 15s. It should not interfere with other messages. "This is just a test" alarm bells going off

Left it running during the night. PSX was on Pause. My laptop was kind-of asleep or in some energy saving state. Everything worked fine this morning.

When you get at it: if somebody has a large display and then takes that out, fixed-position windows (that remember their position) often go off screen. This is only avoidable if you do a pre-check whether the requested position can be done on the current display.

Hi Jamie, when I try the latest GUI version on my MacBook Pro, it is giving me the message "The application "Aerowinx PFPx GUI" can't be opened." when I double click on the application icon.  Any idea what I may be doing incorrectly?

Just downloaded (1.53) and tested it in my MacBook Air M1 (macOS Tahoe v. 26.5.2) and it works ok.

PS. Doing the test I just realized/remembered that Janie is the guy that also  finally solved the " PSX in MacBookAir : A main client !"

Did you moved it to the /Applications folder? And type of Macbook Pro please: Intel or Silicon (M1/2/3/4/5)
