Most of the time there is a difference in weather (metar) between PSX and MSFS. Is there a way to synchronize or is it just a matter of different sources.

I use Balt's RealTraffic, which not only injects real-world traffic into the PSX TCAS, but also injects METARS and winds aloft into PSX. There is always excellent agreement between the RealTraffic METAR and MSFS.

Hi Will,

So RT injects the weather in PSX and disables the PSX weather? Did you have to change a setting? I tried to copy paste the metar of MSFS/Navigraph into the local weather in PSX but this is not changeable.

In PSX, on Instructor > Situation > Weather, uncheck the box that says "Set zones by flight track and downloaded METAR."

In RealTraffic, on Settings > Advanced Weather/Time Settings, check "Inject advanced weather."

After that, RealTraffic injects the METARs to PSX. It will also add a point (the present position) to the PSX Wind Corridor that gives you real-time winds aloft, so that you're flying in the same atmosphere as actual real-world traffic. (For me, this feature alone is worth the subscription price for RealTraffic.)

When it comes to the METARs, I get perfect congruence between RealTraffic, PSX, and Navigraph. I don't know how to check the actual METAR in MSFS, but the weather that MSFS depicts is a plausible depiction of the METARs seen in the other apps.

Thanks Will, Realtraffic sounds interesting!
