By the way, having the message drawn on the terrain image also means that the brightness for this message can be adjusted by the WXR/TERR brightness control (inner knob) and not only by the general ND brightness control (outer ring).

I think, SOP has always been to select WXR on one ND and TERR on the other ND.

But here's a another question: We all know that the WXR display is switched on automatically when a predictive windshear warning occurs. And the TERR display is switched on automatically when a terrain warning occurs. So, should it also be automatically switched on when a SRSL warning occurs? I guess the real system will do this, and it will probably reselect the previous display mode when the warning ends.

The document I used doesn't say anything about auto-display (but then again, it is an old one and it deals only with the system itself).
I don't know anything about different SOPs but I remind you that the B787 and the B747-8 have taxiway databases and they do displayed on the ND so I guess pilots should select terrain on the ground.

I noticed I get runways data anytime I get close to an airport, even at cruise altitude.
Is it easy to limit this to below 2,000 ft AGL (nothing happens above it) to easy on the network and CPU?

I wouldn't worry about network load for this stuff. It's just a few bytes every half a minute or so.

Besides, I think the system is more reliable without an AGL condition. In mountainous areas there may be an airport on a high plateau while the approach path may be over a valley high above 2000 AGL; in that case the nearest runways would be loaded only shortly before landing and that would be too late.
