ECS Air Conditioning temperatures dropping

Good evening everyone.

Whilst on the ground at ENGM recently with more than freezing temperatures, I had GND PWR and conditioning Air connected.
Temps set ,,Auto", the temps however drop rapidly to ambient temps (doors open, Nose cargo door open). Since Doors open; I started APU and closed all doors, Trim Air on and temps continue to drop.
Checked with a IRL Captain for 748 but he said the settings are correct - but still do not understand why the temps can not sustain.

No faults, malfunctions etc - can anyone please explain to me what I might be doing wrong.

Official IRL FCOM for the carrier I am flying also does not give me any solutions.

Okay .... "Kommando zurück". After a further consultation just now by a IRL SFO on the 744 .... he looked at my settings and confirmed so far all good, I had to manually trigger TEMP in the zones to 26C.
Boeing logic he says. What you want you must manually trigger. Once I did that, the temps became stable around 24C on the FLight Deck for example. The real issue, he said, was more in HOT TEMPS to cool down the cargo cabin rather to keep it warm.
