Navigraph navdata install failing

Chris Stanley

Greetings All,
I'm returning to PSX after an absence of 2+ years and am having problems updating the Navigraph navdata to 2512.
I'm following the instructions to download the package from Navigraph and unzip. Then running the Navigraph install application and locating the folder containing aerowinx.jar and executing.
The 2512 navdata is there in C:\Aerowinx DECEMBER 2025\Navigation\-Custom\List. There is no other navdata in this folder! Then I run PSX and go to About/Quit. Select Navigraph 2512 and uncheck and recheck the 2 boxes below.
Running PSX gives me the May 2023 navdata, the last time I ran PSX. Again, the only 2 items in .....\Custom\List are the navdata folder and an Index file containing:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<addon name="Aerowinx Precision Simulator X (v10.0.149 and above)" guid="a7bad891-ebb9-4793-b855-f9f7b8e01371" cycle="2512" revision="1">
  <mapping simulator="USER">
    <directory name="2512-Navigraph">
      <directory name="Binary"> etc etc

Please could someone help me fix this.
Thank You.

I think I just shot myself in the foot by not reading Hardy's pinned post covering this.

Hello Chris,

welcome back :-)

Your Aerowinx folder should contain this subfolder:

\Navigation\-Custom\List\2512-Navigraph\Binary

In Binary there should be at least 49 files.

QuoteThen I run PSX and go to About/Quit. Select Navigraph 2512 and uncheck and recheck the 2 boxes below.

On the About/Quit page, when the two checkboxes for the legal stuff are selected and you can see "2512-Navigraph" on the pop-up menu, this means that "2512-Navigraph" has been correctly installed on your computer. Just select "2512-Navigraph", that's all. Don't uncheck the two boxes. If you do that, "2512-Navigraph" will disappear from the menu because Navigraph's databases are for entertainment and education only, not for professional training.

When "2512-Navigraph" is selected on the About/Quit page, PSX will use that as the global database for everything. Ignore the FMC nav database cycle date indicated on the FMC IDENT page; that indication is a variable, simulated number used to demonstrate the swap function on the FMC IDENT page; that number is linked with the sim's current planet time setting which can be manually changed on the Instructor's Time page with the Season slider or by loading situ files.

Isn't it automatic in Navigraph's installation manager?

In the Navigraph installation app, set the PSX path to the /Aerowinx/Navigation  folder (wherever you installed it)

Make sure you installed PSX into a "non-system" folder (eg not in Program files). If you install into a system folder then sometimes you cannot overwrite "Older" files.

Navigraph's FMS data app didn't find it automatically. Thanks asboyd!

Your welcome!
Had similar problems some years ago when Navigraph started supporting PSX. As PSX does not get "installed" Navigraph cannot "find" its path.

For the Navigraph, my setup is following:
1. You need to download Navigraph FMS Data Manager
2. You need to click in "Addon Mappings" -> "+Add" button
3. Define Aerowinx PSX path (Aerowinx\Navigation\-Custom\List)
4. Click on "Save" button

For me, this worked since day 1.

Once in PSX, I need to always manually select updated database (first time it is installed) and that is it. I usually keep last 4 datasets and delete my older data (manually in the \List folder).

Best,
Andrej
