Installed and tested. Feels very smooth. Apologies to the virtual citizens of photogrammetric Gothenburg for the 300kts low pass down the river.

Gary Oliver

Just tried it running in my sim.  Initial impressions are 2024 is smoother and looks more realistic than when running previous wasm module on 2020.

Hey Gary - updated to latest version and only issue I have left is the lack of timesync - I mostly fly online on VATSIM so no real issue but would be nice for training scenarios.

Other than that I have now left fs2020 behind (still have installed as backup) - the visuals of FS2024 is better and performance seems better also IMO. No crashes or issues experienced so far..

Thanks for the support

Cheers

Kurt,

Looks like the time sync is bug with 2024 that's been widely reported on the developer forums.  Apparently there is a fix coming before Christmas.  When that happens I'll re-enable the time sync.

Had a nice VATSIM flight this evening with PSX/FS2024 after they released updated vPilot yesterday - everything was absolutely smooth with WASM integration to FS2024 working perfect - definitely much much much smoother than FS2020 - I was not aware of ANY stutters at all (running 4K on ultra settings, RTX3090, 5800X3D)
The stutters was always present in FS2020 no matter the settings - this alone is the best part of FS2024 for me so far.

Updated post with download link for a version of the WASM Aircraft that has much brighter lights like we had in MSFS2020.

The taxi light (the one you don't have in your sim) is no longer illuminating the ground with this WASM acft. It lights up (when seen from the front) though.

Works fine here - I think it has to do with the sequence of starting MSFS and WASM - I had the same issue but if I am making sure PSX Server is started first, then the Router, then MSFS24 in the free flight mode and then lastly the WASM Client then all lights work in cockpit mode as well.

Except the taxiway lightning and airport ligtning in general being totally overpowered and Aircraft lights being underpowered it is a VERY smooth experience for me so far with FS2024 :D

You can't see any aircraft at night on airports in fs2024 now due to totally overpowered taxiway blue and green lights - this was amazing in FS2020 so recon they will adjust over the comming months..

Matts,

Are you still pleased with MSFS2024 as far as the scenery and PSX are concerned?

Gary-

If you get time, would you please consider allowing the VC in your models (could be selectable) that way those without a FFS could use the VC pillars and ceiling to provide definition to the outside view.

Thanks for all you do for all of us. I remain obliged.

With the scenery, yes. But 2024 has a sound bug that's very annoying. My audio (using Voicemeeter which probably makes things worse) will randomly freeze up. Sometimes I can get it working again, sometimes I have to disconnect from VATSIM since I cannot get my headset (or any other audio) working again without shutting down MSFS... Waiting patiently for a fix, using 2020 when I want a stable sim.

EDIT: I should not have said I was pleased. Today I can't see any VATSIM traffic in 2024. I can talk to them, but they are invisible. Might be this bug: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/vatsim-model-matching-not-working-after-latest-big-patch/685547/9 - deep sigh. EDIT2: seems a reinstall of the FSLTL Base Models was needed...

Merry Christmas,

A small update to the WASM Module is available at

https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/8a3aumkigub41hsta31eg/PSX.NET.MSFS2024.WASM.UserObject_Dec24Update.zip?rlkey=gjstb7ishigp0r7dgt0uvl4dn&dl=1

to resolve issues with freeze not being set properly and causing stutters on the ground.

Just replace the existing WASM Module in the "PSX.NET.MSFS.WASM_V20\SimObjects\Airplanes\PSX.NET.MSFS.WASM\panel" folder within the community folder.

Cheers

Hi, Is the msfs 2024 standard version enough to run with this scenery link?
Thanks - Carl

Yes.

I'm about to switch to MSFS 2024.  Which version of MSFS 2024 are the PSX folks using with Gary's WASM?

I don't care about the airplanes but am only interested in the scenery.  In MSFS 2020 I got the 40th Anniversary Edition, but am considering the Premium Deluxe Edition in MSFS 2024.

You will get some extra airports in the Premium Deluxe but otherwise your experience will be the same. For PSX I doubt it is worth the upgrade.

LEMD – Madrid-Barajas (Spain)
EHAM – Amsterdam Schiphol (Netherlands)
HECA – Cairo (Egypt)
FACT – Cape Town (South Africa)
KORD – O'Hare International (USA) KDEN – Denver (USA)
KSFO – San Francisco (USA)
OMDB – Dubai (UAE)
EDDF – Frankfurt (Germany)
EGLL – London Heathrow (UK)

Bluestar,
I am sticking to MSFS2020 for the time being, but will switch to MSFS2024 once it matures a little. For now, I only use PMDG 777, Fenix A320 and mostly PSX scenery generator. I will opt for the Premium Deluxe Edition.

Having said that, some freeware airports in 2020 (I am specifically thinking of OMDB) require Deluxe version (or whatever version was "hand made" by MSFS). I would not be surprised the same happens for MSFS 2024, where certain freeware airports would need "hand made" airports by MSFS team.

I certainly don't buy all airports and first look for freeware versions. There are some that I want (EGLL, KJFK, VHHH, LZIB) and others that I want to support (RJTT that is under development). But first I check flightsim.to for freeware options. :-) And finally, some default airports are also acceptable.

Cheers,
Andrej

Thanks for confirming standard is enough. In relation to the 'extra airports' are these still present in the standard but just more detailed in the more expensive versions? Sorry if this sounds like a daft q, but this will be my first venture into the Microsoft Flight Sim series this side of the year 2020!

That is correct.

I'm not sure what I'm not understanding, but I can't seem to get the 2024 WASM to work with MSFS 2024.  Everything I do seems to point back to MSFS 2020.  I got the 2024 Client to run through the *.exe, but don't even know where to start with the Router.
