PSX CDU Remote - iPad keeps crashing

Members,
I was trying to open the PSX CDU Remote App on my iPad and "CONNECT". This keeps crashing. Have you noticed a similar behavior.
Both my iPad and the PSX PC are in the same Wi-Fi network. At the time, I am trying to use PSX CDU REMOTE I also have Aeromap running. Could this be the reason?
Please share your experiences and fixes if you have found one.
Thanks

It started happening after iPad OS 17.

I found the opportunity to do a short flight around LGAV and the PSX Remote is working as it should be.
I also opened the latest Aeromap just in case there is a conflict.

I bet there's a new iPadOS security/privacy setting that needs to be enabled.

By the way what exactly crashes. The iPad or just the PSX CDU app?

And make sure the app knows where to find the PSX PC, by IP address. This may have changed and I don't know how robust the app is against socket errors.

The step that PSX Remote requests the IP address is after you've pressed the "Connect" prompt; and the tapping on the "Connect" prompt is exactly when PSX Remote app crashes. So, no IP Address entry is even initiated.

(edited) Exactly my experience too..Updated my ipad to iOS 17.3, the app still crashes.

Pfwt. Then I fear only the developer can shine light on this ... although some people have it working. Sigh.

Sent out an email to the developer and received the automated failure message:

I have an older iPad that doesn't use this update so I'm not having any issues.

I haven't use my iPad CDU for a long time but I tried yesterday and as soon as I try to connect I get the "disconnected from PSX server". My iPad runs on Version 15.8 and I tried using PSX 10.18 and down to version 10.173.

Has anyone got a fix for that?

Many thanks.

It works for me now on both my normal CDU iPad (iPad Air, MD788B/A, IOS 12.5.7) and a newer one (iPad 9th Gen, MK2K3KN/A, IOS 17.7).

Are you sure your iPad is on the same network as the PSX server, and that there's no firewall blocking the connection to the PSX server?

One thing you could do is to use another tool on the iPad to connect (low-level TCP connection) to the PSX port on your sim. If that tool cannot connect either, the problem is not in the CDU app.

I'm no IOS expert, but I found one such tool on the App Store "TCP Console" by Fausto Ristagno. To use that, start the app, switch to the Client tab, enter your PSX server IP address and port (probably 10747) and press CONNECT. If you see PSX network traffic scrolling in the Console window, your iPad can connect to PSX.

Ugly app-less solution: open http://123.123.123.123:10747 in Safari on the iPad (replace 123.123.123.123 with the IP of your PSX server). If you quickly get the error "Cancelled load from http://... because it is using HTTP/0.9", your iPad can connect to PSX (PSX will reply, but Safari cannot speak PSX's procotol, so it disconnects). If your iPad cannot connect to PSX, you will (after a longer wait) get the error "Safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding" (because there's no reply at all from the PSX server)  Ugly, but should work if you don't want to install unknown apps.

Bonus knowledge: I learned today that the PSX Remote app actually works on a reasonably new (9th gen, if I buy a new one today it's 10th gen) iPad! If anyone has a 10th gen iPad, can you please check if the app works there too?
