No, all keys in PSX are occupied by other functions. You need an external program that can generate a sequence of two G hits for "down...off...up". As usual, the virtual pilot will set "up...off" when CLB thrust is set. So for "off...down" your external program should do just a single G hit.

Why do you need the OFF command if your USB switch has no OFF anyway? (Just UP and DOWN.)

Edit: However, there are free CTRL+ALT combinations in PSX. I will test if I can add these:

CTRL+ALT+U for gear-direct-to-up
CTRL+ALT+D for gear-direct-to-down

cavaricooper

Hardy-

That would be SPLENDID indeed. Your axis calibration solved a lot of issues for me, this is the remaining one.  You are correct (as usual) about the FO actioning the lever to OFF.

Very appreciated!

What timing does JoyToKey use when sending key events combined with CTRL or ALT?

For example, for ALT+S, will JoyToKey first send ALT_press, then wait a millisecond, then send S_press?
And when you release your related joystick button, will JoyToKey first send S_release, then wait a millisecond, then send ALT_release?

I guess it will proceed like this. Just want to be sure.

Because if it were to press the ALT key after the S key, or release the ALT key before the S key, there will be pure S key events which will do other jobs in the application.

In any key combination, experienced humans always press the ALT key first and release the ALT key last.

Edit: JoyToKey probably sends ALT_press and S_press at the same time in one package. That'll work as well. And probably sends the same single package for the release events.

Hardy-

I am not certain, but will read up on it when I return from the Salt Mines. I "think" there are 50ms separations....

Meanwhile https://joytokey.net/en/posts/tips-how-to-trigger-multiple-key-strokes-with-one-button-press/ may give you what you are looking for.

I very much appreciate you adding this!

thank you very much

In my case the PNF moves the lever to OFF at Flap 5....

I guess JD means the on/off assignment in Joytokey, not the OFF on the 747 panel (which has no ON).

JD, I don't know, but I'm sure Joytokey has an assignment page where you can set CTRL+ALT+D etc. and link that with the desired USB switch position.

Circling back- yesterday I flew from JFK to BOS. With the new scenery release, there was a Conga Line and lots of traffic. It was lovely to rotate and finally be able to use my Gear Handle, without having to faff around with the StreamDeck.

I remain obliged- C

Is there an updated list of key bindings with the latest update? Cant find it in the change history.

cavaricooper

That bit remains a bit elusive... Hardy's last Manual is dated 2017... perhaps there will be another in the future...

Meanwhile a pinned post about keystrokes is an excellent idea... I will try and cobble up something this weekend.

Carl,

How did you get this to work?

Bode-

I will
Post a screenshot of Joy2Key tonight after I return from the mines... meanwhile use the second option tab (multiple commands) and use ON for UP and OFF for DOWN.

Use the second from last button selection Send when ON/OFF or something like that.

A photo will explain it much more clearly... soon!

For Joytokey users the only new key functions are these below -- as mentioned in the change history:

168.01. Shortcuts added for direct gear up and down commands: CTRL+ALT+D moves the lever to the DN position, CTRL+ALT+U moves it to the UP position (or to OFF when locked on ground).
