Questions about XView with X-Plane 11

Hello!

At the moment I'm switching back and forth between MSFS, XP11 and XP12. XP11 in regards of performance of course is the best working option, XP12 has some issues with XView, MSFS thanks to PSX.NET is the most complete solution so far.

There are some glitches with XView/XP11 in my setup - do they seem familiar? Are there some configuration workarounds I've been missing?
- altitude: the aircraft shows as hovering from the very beginning of the flight, discovered that when connecting flight logging tools and the like. As a result they don't log takeoff as well.
- flare: just before touchdown the XP airplane seems to fly over a "hump".

Since XP11 is a phantastic solution for less performant setups it would be nice to have this connection running in the best way possible, so any advice is appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Cheers

Yoshi

Hi Yoshi, the things you describe I don't recognize. For me it works perfect, the only problem I have is the freezing of XP11 but that can be solved by setting XP in pause.

Hey Ton,

thank you for your reply. Then it has to be something in my setup. Could you please show me/link the post containing the XView version you use?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Ton,

I'd love to, but as ladbound suspected I can't see any email address.
Could you maybe drop me a short message?

Hi colleagues,
me too..this summer I realized that to have xwiev and xplane11 perfectly working with psx I had to put xplane11 in "pause" mode, I don't know why..

Ton, thank you very much for sharing your configuration, I just tested it.
Unfortunately the issue regarding external tools (SimToolKitPro, Volanta and vmsACARS) not recognising takeoff or landing events still exists.
This might be a dead end unless someone could dive into the code and have a closer look or something new arises.

Thanks a lot again for your help!

Hi Yoshi, A pity it does not work with your external tools. Without the tools it gives a stabile environment in XP 11 I hope?  Xview was written for XP9 and 10, the stabile connection for XP 11 was luck. Xview does not work with XP12 either.

Hi Ton,
indeed I do, it's just the external tools which seem not to be able to read the required data correctly from the aircraft in the sim. All those issues would be solved once the tools provide native support for PSX. I'm working on that :-)

Yoshi,

Are you still working on getting X-plane 12 to work with PSX?

I like X-plane 12 better than MSFS because it is closer to the scenery in the Level-D sims I fly from time to time.

Grace and Peace,

Bode
