Hi, its me again :-)
I still can not use the Simfest Planning Portal due to not open the Simbrief page as forbidden.
I tried all suggestions. Used different browsers, logged in in Navigraph before using the portal.
Am I alone with this ? Or did I missed suggestions?

Same here, it works with an old login in Google Chrome but not when trying to re-authenticate in an incognito window or different browser.

Seems as if SimBrief/Navigraph don't like the authentication to be loaded inside a different page, unfortunately the link itself pasted into a new window doesn't work either.

I can't seem to reproduce this, I'll try again tonight.

I hope it's not something navigraph have broken since they took over simbrief, that would be sadenning.

I'll report back

I could sort of reproduce this...

Tested using Chrome, version "109.0.5414.74 (Official Build) (64-bit)" on Linux.

My normal flightsim browser profile worked OK (I was already logged in). Since I don't want to break a working setup, I did not try logging out.

If I open an Incognito window using that browser, I get the error (non-functional "Cookie Settings" dialog instead of a briefing).

If I create a brand new (Linux) test account (thus preventing any access to my normal profile), it works!

If I start an Incognito Window from Chrome using the new account, I get the error. If I go back to the non-Incognito window, it still works.

So it might be worthwhile for you to try Chrome but with a new profile. And Incognito windows might not be a good place to test this.

I'll go and test the above on Windows in a few minutes...

Hi again,

on my side this might be caused by the security settings/policies in the company network I work. I just tried Firefox 102.8.0esr as well as Google Chrome 110.0.5481.178, both get stuck at the authentication frame (seems as if the external cookie is rejected). Microsoft Edge 110.0.1587.50 on the same machine is working perfectly fine, even in private windows/tabs. Chromium 104.0.5112.105 on Raspbian 11 works as well, so I indeed suspect some weird settings to be the culprit in my case. I also played around a bit with the available configuration options in Firefox, without success. Since it's working using a different browser/OS I'd assume it indeed is an issue with Chrome/Firefox, maybe in combination with company configuration/security policies. I'll recheck at home tonight and report back.

Cheers

The portal works for me when using Chrome on Windows as well, even with a fresh profile (i.e without any extensions). Version is "110.0.5481.105 (Official Build) (64-bit) (cohort: M110_Control)". Windows 10 without any corporate policies.

New profile created like this:

- Start Chrome, in the top right part of the window, click profile icon, then click Add
- Set up your new Chrome profile" shown, choose "Continue without account"
- Choose a name for the profile, e.g "Simfest planning"
- Open simbrief.com, "Accept all cookies", Login
- Open https://planning.simfest.co.uk/, log in (remember me=yes)

It works when using a normal window, NOT in Incognito mode.

I even tried using a new Simfest account (in case my old one was somehow better) and a new Simbrief account. Still works.

I was not able to get Firefox working at all, always gets "log in using Navigraph" and when clicking that: "firefox cannot open this page".

(While I was doing all this testing the portal went into the state where it the popup always gets stuck at 100%. After a few minutes it recovered. I tried to get it to break again, but failed. Might have just been a coincidence and not my testing...)

For Chrome users, I just solved my perpetual (login/accept cookies) loop issue with my primary profile by doing the following:

Go to: chrome://settings/cookies
Scroll down to: "Sites that can always use cookies"
Click on the "Add" button.
Enter: On the enter site line, add: "planning.simfest.co.uk"
Next: Check the box for "Include third-party cookies on this site"

Now, go back to the Planning portal and try to generate a briefing package.  Assuming you are logged in to Simbrief/Navigraph, this fixed the issue for me.

Worth a try anyway.

Thank you both, this works now for me...
