Throttle axis going mad

Hello all,

recent, my Throttle (Thrustmaster Cougar) has gone little weird. As you can see in the video, moving it along its axis is not responding properly.

I tried using it with REALSIMULATOR TUSBA-TQS-R2 (basically, allowing the throttle to operate via USB), but I obtain the same results.

Do you think that this is the end of the life/line for this throttle and I should look for an alternative, or is this fixable?

Driver are installed properly, everything else works. I do apologize for the video quality, but I could not stabilize this any better.

Thank you for any opinion,
Andrej

Hi,

looks like a "noisy" or worn out potentiometer. To verify, you can measure accurate resistance of the poti with a digital multimeter.

If it's the poti: you can (as temporary solution) use some contact spray. But you can't repair a damaged poti that way! Replacing it has to be preferred.

As long as you are satisfied with your throttle and all the other axes are working, it's the most economical approach.

Hans

Hello Hans,

thanks for your message. I order a new poti (shorturl.at/aejX3) and will report if that helped.

Thank you,
Andrej
