BACARS and PFPX

Please pardon my beginner's question... it seems like BACARS fetches flight plan data from the Simfest planning portal, so... Is it easy to use PFPX for flight planning and still use BACARS?

For the PFPX OFP to be accurate, I guess you could copy and paste the route from Simfest into PFPX, but if I'm reading the Huge Guide correctly, the flight plan info has to be in Simfest for BACARS to see it and upload it to the aircraft. Is that right?

If anyone is doing their flight planning (and generating an OFP) with PFPX, and using BACARS in PSX, I'd love to hear any tips about integrating the two.

Thanks guys.

Will,

I use PFPX and BACARS but do everything by hand. I save the PFPX route to PSX and uplink it during flight preparation via the RTE page (of course), and I initialize BACARS manually (no uplinking). All my weather is internal (not real-time) PSX weather (I use the corridor feature extensively).

Basically, I don't integrate the two, so I am not much help here.  ;D

Best regards,

Mariano
