Useful German exclamation in that first one? Translated as "holy crap," obviously not literally.

I think the german exclamation "heiliger Strohsack" is much closer to the term Holy Moly. And it is not a rough/ harsh expression like crap. This is the big difference.

"Aft cabin" on a freighter sounds like the aft upper deck... so basically a camping ground fire. Can be anything from an ignited hamburger in the microwave to a smoking iPhone. Good that there was no significant damage or injuries.

Incident: Atlas B744 at Seoul on Jun 11th 2024, hydraulic failure and tyre damage on departure

Tyre damage occurred to the same air-frame on June 2. Could this be related (such as missed damage in the gear bay) or just a bad coincidence?

I can imagine an intermittent failure of the antiskid system. Locking up a bogey is a good way to cause the kind of damage we see here.

The Aviation Herald learned that upon rotation for departure from Seoul the treads of two tyres separated cutting a hydraulic line. As result hydraulic system #1 was lost prompting the return to Seoul. On landing a third tyre blew.

Antiskid failure on takeoff?

Jeroen Hoppenbrouwers

"On Jun 13th 2024" so that effectively disqualifies my guess. I didn't get it yet that the tire damage occurred before the hydraulic damage. I reverted it and assumed the tire damage was a result of landing with a partially failed brake system (fail as in lockup).

Interesting to see that the body damage is forward of the wheels.

Seems like Atlas has a thing for hydraulic issues. :-* Different plane.
