I'm innocent: this incident happened last year, before I even got aboard.  :-)

"I lost 2 generators once. I found out later that the L1 door had been left open allowing rain to pour onto the main deck and run down into the Main Electrical Compartment (MEC) below the main deck ....shorting out all kinds of things.WE once had a 747 that was taking off in heavy rain. The access door seal that seals the outside belly door to the MEC had worn out and the rain water being forced upward by the nose wheels on take off sprayed past the door seal and shorted out all kinds of things in the MEC and the crew lost multiple busses and having only the Standby Buss which powers the Capt's instruments, one ILS and one comm."

Incident: Cathay Pacific B744 at Hong Kong on Feb 22nd 2025, hydraulic failure

(always that nagging feeling if one of "my" aircraft appears in this list, and lately there have been way too many)

Hope you don't have nightmares, Hoppie ...

No, I don't. It's never our stuff that causes an accident. But "we lost" a lot of airplanes and lives over the years. The National 744. The Emirates 777. And lately the Endeavour CRJ and the American Eagle Embraer. On one hand it means we're good at getting equipment installed. But it also means we suffer more. Our motto is "connecting the world by making flight safer" and we do, but it's not 100%.
