Triple monitors - horizon position?

Just wanted to check with fellow simpit builders here. I'm setting up my new triple monitors. Should the horizon be in the centre of the screen (for a 747)? Or because the pilots sit slightly higher, a lower horizon?

In my view, the horizon should be horizontal from your usual eyepoint in the seat.

In the real thing, when seated right, you can just look over the MCP, which slopes down away from you. If you put a matchbox on the MCP a bit away from the edge, you can see it. This gives you the right perspective forward. So you can use this to tune your vertical positioning, even while PSX isn't 3D.

Thanks Pete, so i need to adjust the height of my monitors so that the horizon lines up with my eyeline (in MSFS).

Peter's view also makes sense mathematically.

The pilot's horizontal distance to the scenery horizon is virtually infinite. Call this line X.

And your head axis is vertical. Call this line Y.

The angle between line X and line Y is 90°.

Since the virtual horizon is infinitely far away, the 90° eye view angle keeps the horizon always at eye height.

Projecting this fact onto a 2D screen, the horizon's pixel height is always in the center.
