Hi guys,

after a long time and lot of work in the meantime, I updated my homepage. Lot of new pictures are available of how I built my sidewalls, visual, OVHD etc.

So, if you are interested: be welcome to visit my homepage or use the direct link: http://www.b747-400.net/report_sim_ready/sim_ready.html

Best regards from Vienna!

Hans!

Always look forward to seeing your progress, your 777 and 747 sims were both inspiration to me when it came to building my own sims.

I love the sliding projector screen! Really wish I could fit in the same!

Looking amazing! Hope you and the family are well.

Cheers

Great work Hans.

Looking forward to seeing your sim come alive when you start hooking up the panels.

Hi Hans,

looking very nice!

I especially liked the innovative approach on how to circumvent the potential bottleneck of missing OEM plugs.
I am currently in a similar situation with some Non-OEM panels (w. Molex plugs) and some OEM.

Just to be clear - each connection is soldered 2x times, one on the male side on the (exchanged) panel plug and one on the female side in the back shell?!
And one would have to dismantle the original wiring harness on the panel jack which could give me a chill ;)

Hi Carsten,

thanks for you compliment!

In some cases (maintenance, cleaning etc.) I took the complete panel apart. For example, the Fuel panel with 20 Korry switches. I cut off the wires to the OEM connectors. I cleaned the switches and the panel etc.

I replaced the broken Backlighting lamps as well as the 5 V and 28 V lamps of the Korry switches.

Thereafter I soldered the wires to the male connectors on the panel side.

Same for the wiring looms. Each cable is individually soldered (and color coded) to the female connector.
The other side is not soldered to a connector. The "end of the cable" will go into the spring-loaded terminal connectors from SimStack.

I hope this clarifies things. You are welcome to connect via my HP form. So, if you prefer, we then can switch to German language ..  ;)

Cheers
Hans

Hi Hans,

I guess it's clear now. For original (OEM) crimping pins you would always have a male & female side.
Initially I was a bit confused as for this type on both ends you have to solder to a male side on both backs.

The interlocks inside the plug will then pair without any further crimping.

The other end of the wire will then just be fed into whatever kind of board you are using.

Cheers
Carsten
