I am impressed by my purchase of the book by Norbert Andrup - Boeing 747. Do you have any suggestions on apps which can take pictures and translate the text from the book (which is in German)...The book itself is impressive when it comes to illustrations, paper quality and how the content has been laid out..

If I am able to translate from GERMAN to English, this book would be a gem in my collection...

Hm, easiest thing would be if you have access to a scanner that can recognise text and then put it into a translator like goole. I use leo.org to translate things here on the homepage, but it is for sure only usable for single word or short sentence. I don't know how good that one (or google) will be with technical terms and things. I think that is a bit of a blackbox. Sorry. I know german and it somtimes isn't easy to translate that into english for sure... Hardy did a teriffic job with his manuals...

Well, I have a scanner..But I dont want to put the book on the bed of the scanner as it will affect the book spine. Any hand held device to take pictures and then translate would be ideal...

If you have a good handy camera, there are for sure OCR apps for Google or Apple, that will read the text from a picture you take with a handy? never looked for one myself, but i could imagine that should work. It's not different to scan a text, so i am sure nowadays there could be a solutino for that?

Well I just tried Google Translate. Seems to be working well...Thank you for all your feedback. Now, I am not promoting the book. But, its an amazing find for me which captures the QUEEN's evolution in neat clear illustrations.

Thanks
