Congratulations!  Very well deserved and testament to your amazing achievement with PS13 and now PSX.  I've spent a career working in IT and software and PSX is unique in so many ways.  Very pleased for you.

Congratulations!

A most remarkable event and well-deserved recognition for PSX and its creator.

Thanks to Atlas for helping to make this happen.

PS:  will this recognition change how frequently or how easily and1 rapidly PSX can be updated or patched?
Best wishes,

My guess is that a specific revision of PSX was certified and this will remain fixed for the FAA certification. However it won't stop Hardy releasing whatever he wants. It's just that the people/companies wanting to take credit for training hours on PSX will need to stick with the certified revision until somebody does the paperwork for a minor upgrade (no problem, just work).

Minor = no new features = bit of paperwork only.
Major = new features = all paperwork again, unless you write up similarity analyses. Like, a change in some flight analysis recorder can be shown to not hurt the systems part.

Thank you all.

I'm not involved in the FAA specific paperwork, but I can say that updates will continue as usual, and the next one is already in the works -- for Atlas and everyone.

Instead of using one conventional fixed based sim for X hours with one teacher and two pilots, they now use PSX within the same time frame with the same teacher and ten pilots. That saves a lot of time and money.

I learnt the FAA did not only approve it, they loved it ... :-)

Toga

I hope they paid you a small fortune for the privilege as they have no objections to charging us fortunes for licences / ratings.

Congrats Hardy. Fantastic work.
