B747-200 tech info question

Hi,

After some hours in Google and searching dozens and dozens of docs/manuals etc I not found an information. As so, i ask here to all 747 experts to help me in this situation:

B747-200 have a twisted wing (washout), so, what are the angles of incidence of a B747-200 wing (root...middle...tip)?

Thanks in advance ;)

Best regards

Hi Tercio,

http://www.airliners.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=757537 talks about it, mentioning a -3,0 degree washout, but just from root to tip, no intermediate values... and it's no official references.

See also: http://www.fzt.haw-hamburg.de/pers/Scholz/HOOU/AircraftDesign_7_WingDesign.pdf

although no specific info about the 742, it mentions the "total" wash-out in the A310 to be -8.0 deg

And there might be something too in some of the tables in:
http://aero-comlab.stanford.edu/Papers/AirplaneDesignShanghai.pdf

Search here too - it has the twist for the A380, maybe also the 747 ( ? ):
"Aerodynamic Design of Transport Aircraft"

In the search I found inspiration for building my retirement house :-)

Hello my Friend, I had sure you will shows up here, sad that not in other places...  ;D
Yes that house i also saw yesterday, its realy realy cool.
About 747 i think that is around -3.8 or -4 based on 2 official NASA documents. Both have a chart with the twist angle through the wing of a 747-200B, one doc based on complex computer simulation of the wing behavior while flying and have the original start point twist, other document with the twist angle of some tests of a 742B used as the basis for diferent tests for a future wing tips design.
The more corresponding value looks more like -3.8 but strangely that in one graph the twist along the wing started at -0.2 instead of 0 and finish at wing tip at -4, why the -3.8 value. Also it corresponds +/- with the other values for the wingtips designs tests, but there they shows multiple values around -3.9 because the influence of diferent tips designs. So i thing -3.8 is a very good value.

Thank You ;)

Thanks for these reference links - I really enjoyed studying them and comparing the computational methods to things I worked on during my (non-aviation) scientific career.
