I wonder if there is anyone out there, that has Xview working for X-Plane 10.51
Preferably Mac but Win also.
I don't seem to get it to work.
The plugin does not appear in the plugin dropdown in X-Plane.

thx

I have it working in windows 10 Anniversary with X-Plane 10.51 but I upgraded from X-Plane 10.3 with it already installed.
Have you followed the main instructions and turned off UAC. Also I have X-Plane in a folder on a second drive (I have also tried it in C:\XPlane....) make sure you do not have it in one of your personal folders (ie desktop, documents, downloads) as these will not allow the plugin to install correctly.

Good day,

I have read that the xview link did not work. Is this still the case? Is it worth acquiring x-plane to use as scenery generator?

Kind regards,
Marius.

Thanks Alex, I think I'll have a new try with XP in Win7 and set things up from scratch in Windows. No plugins etc. And plant it in Root C:
I'll get back here when I did it.

Walktall,
If you look in the other link http://aerowinx.com/board/index.php?topic=1615.0
regarding X-plane you will find a link to my dropbox which has XView for windows. I do not have the MAC version but others in the thread do...

Alex,

Got it to work!
New install of X-Plane 10.51 on my Win 7 machine. Installed your Xview version and it works.
I made sure, that the folders in STEAM are writable as well. This is a Windows issue. Maybe that was what prevented View from working.

All is fine now except for the OUTBD and INBD LL. Taxi Turnoff, Strobes, Beacon, Wing, Logo lights all work.
The LLs are the only problem.

But I guess that is kind of hard-coded in Xview and can only be fixed if recoded.

Thanks for the help.

Yes Teeloo,
The light issues have been raised previously. It may also be an issue with X-Plane 11 as well due to the way in which their new rendering code is written....
Maybe the only thing to do is try and map a special key via xpuipc.....

Enjoy...

Hi Alex

as I understand the system I suppose that that for this scenario 2 separate Tekworks cards are necessary.

Presently the landing light switches are linked to the card and PSXInterfaceIT software where the other overhead stuff is controlled by PSX. Now I have to remove the landing light switch connection and have to link it direct into X-Plane in my understanding. So I have to remove the wiring physically and connect it to another card that is not controlled by PSXInterfaceIT. I also need the InterfaceIT software. Is this possible on one computer?
I can imagine that if I run both PSXInterfaceIT and InterfaceIT on one computer the cards do not know anymore where they are controlled from.

Do I understand this right? Any experiences here?

Peter,

The hardware approach has nightmare written all over it.

I would suggest another way would be to write a little program which takes the landing lights data out of PSX and injects into xplane.

Anyone got any experience of x-plane development?  It looks like we bind to a TCP socket and set ASCII strings.

Should be quite straight forward.  Unless of course someone can get hold of Mike of XView and see if he is prepared to share the code with the PSX community?

Cheers

Gary,

thats what I suspected. Unfortunately I'm not a programmer, otherwise I would fix it and if possible improve it.
