So I got XView working with X-Plane, but I wanted to try X-Plane without PSX, and now it won't work. If I disable the plugin, it's re-enabled when I re-open X-Plane, and not of my joysticks work. Any idea how to fix this?

Make sure the boost server is working in PSX may help

Sorry I misread your question placing the win.xpl file directly in the PSX X-Plane folder may help

Try setting the Xview plug in to disabled in the plug in menu option of x-plane.
I had a similar situation as Xview puts x-plane into a strange mode and you cannot control the aircraft except with cursor movements (like slew)...

Thanks, I tried disabling it. It doesn't work still, and if I restart Xplane it's re-enabled.

For me I just have 2 X-plane instances :-
1 for PSX, so with xview / no joystick config, no add on aircraft
2 for none PSX use; so no xview but joystick configuration and addon  aircraft installed.

Not saying this solves your problem, but I once had a conflict, so decided to separate them and whilst sometimes means updating twice, it keeps everything separate & clean and no further problems.

Thanks

Sherlock,

instead of dropping the XView plugin folder in you main plugins folder move it bellow the PSX 744 Xview model plugins folder instead.

This way it will get active ** only ** when that aircraft is selected from the Aircraft menu.

This should work ok, but I haven't tried it.  You can always rename win.xpl to something else, say nowin.xpl, and XP won't find it.
