Visual PSX not connecting

Hi,

any help is appreciated.. I want to start using Visual PSX with FSX as a scenery generator.. I set up everything as described in the attached manual, but Visual PSX is still not able to connect to PSX.. (PSX is showing connection attempts, but they all fail)..

I am running everything on same PC.. anyway i set up correct IP address in all the files..
I am little bit confused about "simconnect.dll".. because the names of included files are FlightSimsimconnect.dll and XYsimconnect.dll for use with P3D.. I dont know the file names exactly as i am not home.. Should I use this FlightSimulatorsimconnect.dll as it is or should i rename it to "simconnect.dll" only ???

I put all the files in appropriate folders, ran the runways programme to create a runway database file but no success.. Visual PSX is still attempting to connect (at first to PSX i think).. but connections are refused.. (it is shown in PSX that growing number of connection attempts have failed or disconnected).. I have the boost server on as well.. I have no problém connecting more instances of PSX on different computers to this "main" session, so i have no idea where the problem can be..

I can write more details about my settings later if it is required..

Thanks for advice..

Jan-

I had the same issue.  I solved it by deleting my folder, starting from scratch, following the documentation and NOT putting in the IPs (initially I was running VisualPSX, PSX and P3D on the same machine). Don't rename anything.

Start P3D first, with the default 747-400 on the runway at EGLL (or wherever). Start PSX at the same location.  Set panel and get all systems up and running.  THEN start VisualPSX and TrafficPSX. Taxi off to your favorite stand.  Shut down to whatever suits you, short turn, cold and dark, etc.. Close TrafficPSX and VisualPSX then SAVE PSX SITU (I save as VisualPSX.situ which is what PSX loads automatically at each start.  SAVE P3D flight (I save as VisualPSX which I load at each startup).  From here on, you can fly all around the world, just rinse and repeat. Add ASN, PSXWx, BAACARS and vPilot as you get more comfortable with all this.

Once it was all running, I copied my folder across the network and added IPs so that I now run it on a networked machine.  I was overthinking the setup, it worked without a lot of fuffing around....

Try that and let us know.. The challenges along the way are TRULY worth it- I am thrilled with the combination.
