PSX on FreeBSD

Hello all !

I am in the midst of migrating back to FreeBSD from my Debian. Obviously this migration has to include PSX.
The first tests were not really successful as I get the infamous stuck at 31% issue (on 10.0.4)

Loading AerowinStart with the following command line:

java -Xmx500m -Djava.library.path=Interfaces -jar Aerowinx.jar

gives me the following error message:

Trying to use default plugin, OS name FreeBSD not recognised

Not sure if anyone has encountered this.... and how to deal with it?

I guess it is the plugins in the interfaces folders that are not recognized (or built) for Freebsd...

Cheers !

Hello,

the interfaces are for OS X, Windows, and Linux. There's obviously no compatible sound and USB interface for FreeBSD.

Cheers,

Thanks Hardy.

Been working on this though and one solution is to enable the Linux compatibility mode in FreeBSD and launch PSX via a Java VM that uses Linux libraries.

Now I have (almost) a PSX running under FreeBSD, at least with the sound. Still need to work on getting the USB recognized....

Hello chedhkg,

Just out of curiosity, are you still running PSX on FreeBSD? I am in the process of splitting my installation between MS Windows and FreeBSD, moving everything that can run on FreeBSD away from Windows. More of a proof of concept right now, but I have PSX working on FreeBSD using three monitors.

The splitting of my setup was prompted by the purchase of an MCP + 2x EFIS and the desire to build something more cockpit-y and running out of video outputs. I'm not using the PSX USB subsystem as I'm using Frankenusb.
