Load and Save Situation Questions

Hi Dear Captains,

After a couple of flight hours and many hours of learning PFX features and secrets (even more hours of refreshing my 747-400 knowledge) I still have questions on PFX ops.
I am espacially confused about certain save/load situations what I could not figure out from the manuals.
I created my model/preferences (USB)/layout files and saved them under a different name.
After compeling a test flight with these setings I went through the PARKING and SECURING checkilst creating a cold and dark cockpit and saved this to the situation files under a specific name.
My question:
After loading this situation a couple of days later, are the model/preferences/layout and weather files loaded together with the situation file? Or should I load them separately?
I am especially curious about the the weather. What weather should be loaded? The weather on the day when the situation was saved or the current weather (my METAR download is ticked in)?
Appreciate your help,
Cheers,

Tamas

If your internet is connected, and you have the box "set zones by flight track and downloaded METAR" ticked, then your situation will keep importing real-world weather. (An exception is made for situation files that are stored by pressing the EVENT REC button; these freeze the weather so you can see exactly what was happening when you pressed the button.)

The situ files don't store your preferences or your layout, but you can set PSX to load your default selections on startup. Situation files do remember your model.

Many thanks Will! In that case I don't know what happened yesterday. I loaded my saved situ but my weather remained the old one. My internet connection was perfect, everthing ticked and selected properly, I've double checked everything, no joy.
I will give it a try again.

Cheers,
Tamas

To complete this advice, there is a third condition:

[x] Allow METAR files download from Internet

If this checkbox is selected on Preferences > Basics, the METAR world files will be updated twice an hour, and the magenta label "(Internet is on)" is displayed after the "Set zones by flight track ..." checkbox on all Weather pages.

If not selected, you will get the weather from the last downloaded METAR world files which are cached on your disk in the Aerowinx/Weather subfolder, even if your internet is connected, and you have the box "set zones by flight track and downloaded METAR" ticked.
